We sell Verizon Wireless in our stores......GSM has been a hobby of mine to get the phones that NO ONE HAS! Menu is Blazing Fast!....Very surprised how fast it was......I have been using Pocket PC and the P800 FLIES!!!! Ringtones sound like my laptop....AWESOME.....Color screen is perfect like a pocket pc 65k.....SHARP!

i completely agree... this is like self promotion... but anyway, look at LVwireless, he had 3 of those 2 weeks ago and had no problem telling us that he was selling them for $2700 each, so why can't you tell us you pricing, i mean if i called you and never mentioned being on the forum and said i was interested and heard from my friend about you... blah blah blah, i am sure you would have given me the price...

Does the P800 have a 65K screen??? I thought it has a 4096 colours screen.

Bummer. I wish it had a 65k screen. Now that would have rocked. But wait!! SE will bring release a SOFTWARE UPGRADE so that the screen can display 65K colours! just like they are going to release a new firmware for the T68i so that it can play polyphonic melodies!

Price is kept secret because I dont have any more....so saying a price means nothing....if I get more next week then I will post a price.....Free PR....think not......My time answering questions and email is NOT free.....but I enjoy it.........

Even though im really interested in getting a P800 when it comes out (which is one reason im didnt buy any new recent phones)...

The price that the mystery HF member brought the phone for is irrelevant to what it'll cost when the phone comes out on the market....

ALL phones that are pre-released or "JUST COME OUT" will always be EXPENSIVE........so asking the price of what he/she paid for means nothing.....its just the price of being the FIRST ONES of owning one

trust me i know that better than many others, my point is say adam sold those 2 weeks ago for 2700... now this one went for example for 2500 or less, that would be a good sign that the release is near, since those guys who originally get those phones and sell them to people like nycom and adam, know the situation way better anybody else... i mean, what does it matter, i just want to know the damn price... if he does not want to disclose it, i'll live with it....

I don't want to put any flame here, but personally I believe that no HOFO member bought that phone and the whole story is a BS for advertisement porpuses and only. As JerryNycom mentioned he likes to get stuff before anybody else, and I do believe that. The P800 I see on the pics and video I think is his own (congrad). Actually I would like to thank you for sharing this pics and movies with us!
But if a member would have bought that phone, he/she would have posted 100 threads already. I don't think that they are a lot of people here that would be the first ones to have a P800 and not sharing this information with the rest. They would do EVERYTHING to show off. Personally if I don't see proof that a HOFO member bought that phone, I have NO reason to believe that he wants to keep his (user)name confidential. Somebody give me a reason for that.
Anyways I think the story is BS. But thanks again for the nice review.

He most probably sold the unit in the range of $2200 - $2700

However, I'll be getting the p800 pre-commercial unit next week for $650 (or even cheaper). You have to have someone working in SE in order to get these unit...someone very close and someone who is highly trustworthy.
And fortunatly, I have that 'someone' to get me the p800.

I'll post more details when I'm about to get the p800, and when i get the unit.

P.S. However, I still wont be able to give my source of getting p800.

p800 pre-commercial unit has few bugs, but when SE officially release p800, the pre-commercial unit can surely be upgraded to the new firmware version. So i'm not worried about that. I would rather live with p800 bugs, than completly living without p800. lol

I will have more units next week, and YES those will sell for $2500-$2700.....I know thats crazy but the P800 WILL NOT be out till probably January.....So the HIGH price makes sense.....We sold V70's for $2000.00 and we all know that phone does nothing more than make calls.....I have paid double for laptops and electronics not available in the states and I LOVE IT! WHY? Better than yours! Same with phones.....Want to be the Elite.......You have to pay......THE P800 DOES NOT EXIST RIGHT NOW........PERIOD!......My grandmother in Quam is getting it for $500.....Whatever.......Get it and post it! HAHA....dude, calm down....take a chill pill. I know everything you are saying is right, but you need to make other people understand as well.
I bought my v70 for $1000 and at that time absolutuly no one around here had one. In order to be the first one to get hands on the latest cell phone, and being unique, once has to pay the high price.
The suppliers, however, get the most profit when the price is really high. If you have the solid sources in SE, I'm very very sure that you are getting p800 for about $500 or $600, and selling them for $2200-$2700, and of course anyone would do the same, and this the best time to get the most profit. Same goes for all the cell phones.

One doesn't have to become PIG in order to be successful. When a product's supply is so less, you can basically choose your own price to sell. And in this case, p800 has a very less supply, and the demand is extremely high, so the suppliers who can get p800 would take advantage of this and set their own price (which in this case is about $2200 to $2700), and people out there would still buy it. Not everyone of course but only few people who would literally pay anything to get latest gadgets. But since you are not getting p800 directly from SE source, your profit margin is probably little less (I would still assume that you are getting p800 for about $1000 max.)

Up till now, I don't see any reason why Jerry needs to post his price for the P800.

The first and simple reason is that it's his choice. He has the phone and he is the seller. If he doesn't like posting his price to the public, then let him be. What's the big deal out of it? Why can't you respect his choice?

Furthermore, face it, even if he post his price, how many of you will spend thoudsands on the P800? Ask yourself if you will buy the phone right now no matter how expensive it is. You know that it's not commercially available yet, you know it's freaking expensive, you know that you aren't rich enough and you certainly know that you will not buy it for $3000USD (example). So why bother satisfying your curiosity when you aren't totally serious on getting it?

Sure, there are exceptions who are determined to get the P800 now no matter what. If you fall in this category, just contact Jerry, Adam or other dealers and ask for the price yourself. It shows your sincerity on how serious you are on getting the item. I don't see Rolex posting prices on their site, or Ferrari having their prices neither. I don't see any problem with that.

Again, Jerry mentioned that he sold his last unit of the P800, what's the point of telling you the price when he got none to sell?

Whether he's getting them for $100 or $2000, it doesn't matter. The market price for these is still around $2500. All the more power to those of you who can get them for $650, but don't begrudge a dealer for trying to get what the market will bear.

I have got to comment on this thread.

Jerry, Adam, and Robb - I applaud your business sense and contributions to this forum, both in terms of product and thought leadership. All 3 of you have identified a market for your products and are exploiting it. Capitalism at it's best. It is one of the tenets of our way of life in the U.S. One that I am proud of.

Many people on these forums are immature, jealous and unclear of how a capitalist market actual works. They'd be surprised that on some merchandise you actually make very little money and in fact, probably lose money so you can open up or expand sales channels.

Keep up the good work, offer us the most trend-setting, leading edge technology and there will always be a few buyers. Continue to offer the commodity items, the bread and butter to the masses to make a stable income. I hope you make a ton of money and have a great time doing it.

To all of those that are shocked at the price for some of these items, just remember that these guys play on a delicate balance of supply and demand. If Jerry or Adam paid $2500 for a P800 and turn around and sell it for $2700 they make a modest % profit. All it takes is one person to begin selling these things at $2400 and Jerry and Adam are now stuck and will more than likely lose money on their inventory. We all know how quickly prices and the balance changes in the world of technology. If you can't afford the $2700 don't sweat it - in a few months, when you are playing with your subscriber subsidized P800 that you paid $299 for, very few will remember who was first on the block to own one at $2700 . . .

. . . besides by that time the P1000 or whatever gizmo will be out and cost $3200.

now when it turns out to be a battle and many people calling us (who were interested in price) the bad occusers for some reason, i should clarify something here... frst of all i admit i don't even want the phone for 2700 nor for 650... i just don't like it... but my curiosity was justified, since this is a discussion forum and people are interested in stuff about phones. Keeping in mind that Jerry has not provided any new information about the phone, that we don't already know (the pics are nice, but i have seen well over 50 other live pics 2 month ago, so nothing new here) the current price even if it is 2700 or 35000 bucks is something potentially interesting, something that i for one don't know... so i asked, Jerry got defensive (for what, the whole purpose of this thread is to post a piece of information and provide follow ups as people inqure) so the first person to reply asked about the price, obviously its the most interesting thing to know at this point...
now with jerry's defense mechanism enabled and some "supporters" of his confidentiality this thread slowly transformed into some kind of name-calling galore... people started calling most members immature or not rich enough to get it for 2700.. or whatever... All i am saying is who the f. r u to conclude that somebody is not rich enough to get it at that price... some people have common sense left and will not buy a cellphone for that price, they can afford it, but they are still articulate and considerate of their spendings, so has it ever occured to you that people think such price is off limits because it is...
everything could have been different, Jerry could have said any freaking amount and everybody would stop asking, but when he comes up and posts some "intriguing" super confidental stuff, that is where it leads the whole discussion... if you are unable to comment on your information, don't bother bringing it up...

Thats true about Adam. i posted in a thread a few days ago how he never responded to my email. he responded back to me in the thread and wasn't nasty at all. He also looked from a month ago when I had sent him the email and responded to it yesterday. He apoligized for not getting back to me and explained why. Now thats a class act and a good businessman. I commend Adam for that. We all make mistakes and he corrected it with me. I would have no problem doing business with Adam in the future. Hes a gentleman.
Also I have done business with Robb here already and will be again next week. Hes also a gentleman. Those 2 guys WILL get my business and anyone else I can turn on to them, because they are class acts. Nuff said.

[MDS], you can't compare Jerry's NYCOM logos to the ones which T-Mobile puts on their phones. T-Mobile is a service provider and sell locked phone with their network. However, NYCOM is just a small company who ONLY sells phone, and just an authorized dealer of Verizon Wireless. That means Adam should start putting his comapany or name stickers on all the stuff he sells? If he start doing that, people would start complaining. I would personally not buy v70 which is cutomatized and its original logo has been removed and thrown out and some cheap a** 'NYCOM' logo has been put.

Jerry, I appreciate you maintaining my request for confidentiality on the P800 purchase as I was going out of town this weekend. I believe you now know the reason I was so specific regarding "Price", however, your honesty, integrity, and now I see very "name" have been subjected to much ridicule and anger. I asked Jerry to not disclose my identity until I chose to disclose it as this was "My Party" so to speak. Price is something all of you can speculate about, but only I and Jerry know what I paid as it is only relevant between the two of us.

As for your logo Jerry, I find this one to be very tasteful and appropriate, although you need a P800 people to see it.


(Next time Jerry, use the camera's best settings instead of it's worst!) As for those who speculate and wonder about the indentity of the owner, it is indeed me, and for those of you who called Jerry a liar and a "Self Promoter of African sexual positions" shame on you and don't you feel silly.

As for those who don't like a P800, well, you really don't know what you are missing, it's all that and a bag of chips!


And finally, for anyone who wants to know about how it works, it's features, and such, ask CheekyMuffin in a week, (7)days, when he gets his.

Im debating if i should get it, since i think the touch screen wont be practical for my daily use...but i have the v70 for that. Anyway thats sweet that you have one! Thats just perhaps how this is. The price is the market price, which is ok, so there is no point in publishing the price if it is fluctuating on a per-customer basis. Now, the P800 to me is decent, but not any much interesting. Even at $400, I would not buy one now, except to sell it for $2800 This is just how capitalism works. This is one instance where capitalism is best. The price is simply the lowest price that the seller will sell the phone or the highest price that the buyer will pay. If the latter is higher than the former, then the latter is the market price at that instant. When prices are published, there is an offer taking place. Perhaps our man here does not want to make offers in such a fashion. Capitalism will sort this all out in the end, and the price will drop.

Note: I am in no way saying that Capitalism is flawless. In fact, I despise capitalism for some of its nastier aspects. For example, if a company can save $100 now at the cost of a few lives, it will do so as long as the loss of life does not in the near future carry with it a cost potentially greater than the $100 it would save. I HATE this part of capitalsm, and the government is needed in these situations to kick the capitalistic market in the rear everytime it thinks about such flagrant disregard for human life. Nonetheless, if aiding people prevents a system from being able to achieve future growth and causes it to hurt more people in the long run, sacrifices are needed.
