Hi

does anybody know how to split the casing around the lcd screen. My daughter dropped her phone and the lcd has cracked. I have found a replacement screen but can't see how to open the casing without damaging it.

Hi there,

Steps to splitting LCD screen housing on Sharp GX10i....

1).. Poke out gromets found in bottom corners, underneath are 2 screws...

2).. Lift gromet at top of casing above microphone, underneath there a further 2 screws...

3).. Undo all screws...

4).. You should then be able to run your finger nail round the housing. Therefore, splitting it into 2 pieces...

5).. It should now only be joined by the hinge... Lift the housing open from top to bottom, back on the hinges as if the opening a book and using the hinges as hinges, will open the split in the hinges...

6).. You should now have a complete LCD housing in 2 pieces....

Thanks for the detailed info, i havent got the screen yet so i am going to wait till it arrives before taking it apart.
