My dad recently acquired an xv6600 for VZW. He wants so set up speed dial number 1 (voice mail) to have pauses in it so that he won't have to type in his PIN every time. How do I instert a pause?

usually it's the menu softkey, then insert Pause, or the # key... hope that helped...

To my knowledge, there isn't a "menu softkey". There is the start button for windows mobile.

not the "menu softkey"... the "menu" softkey... you know, like a button that you press to open the menu...

you may have to hit Menu on the screen... it's somewhere on there...

tell ya what, since you can't find it, send the phone to me, with a note of what the voicemail number and password is, and I'll do it for you... free of charge!

I probably won't have a chance to play with his phone until Sunday. I poked around on everything I could see, and saw nothing about inserting a pause anywhere though.

To my knowledge there isn't a way to do this. I too had the same question since I use to do this with my previous cell phone. I went to the store where I bought my 6600 and they didn't have an answer either. The # doesn't work though, it is ignored.

Just enter a lowercase "p" using the keyboard. Works perfectly. You may have to enter several in a row to get a long enough pause. Hope this helps.
