Not possible with the Palm OS. I am now trying out a 650 after using PPC exclusively for a good while. While I miss multitasking, not having it has not proved fatal. Depends on the user.

But it will play audio and do other tasks.

I've used Palms for about ten years and I'm now trying out a 650. With the Palm OS you can use popup programs and you can switch instantly between programs, even though only one will be on the screen at any one time. Almost daily I use a popup notepad, a popup calculator and a screen capture when keeping the main program running (or actually freezing it), and with third party software I can switch programs at the click of a button. It's not true multitasking but most of the time the effect is the same. When you switch away, everything freezes and when you come back, it picks up right where it left off. You can be playing a game, switch away to add a calendar entry, and switch back right where you left off in the game. You can do a screen capture of the game, send it MMS, and switch right back where you were in the game. Sometimes it's better than multitasking but you can't have programs running in the background while you do something else like you can with real multitasking.
