I recently bought a 650. I am liking the fuctionality of it but I am not using it with a bluetooth head set yet. Keeping that in mind am I feel that when I use it as a phone that I am using some that shouldn't be used as a phone. You know what I mean? The volume is aweful on earpiece as well as speaker phone compared to my previous "dumb" phone Nexthell i860. I downloaded the volume fix but it still feels awkward to talk on this thing. I am assuming that most people that have it are using an ear piece.
So basically because I don't know how to set up a poll who here is using an ear piece and who is using just the handset.

I have the PalmOne Treo Wireless Headset (rebranded Jabra BT330). I use it when I'm in the car or walking around but if I'm at the office or at home, I'll usually just use the handset.

i have the Motorola HS850 that i use depending on the situation (like LetsGoFlyers said). Usually its while driving. But I don't really have a problem with just using the handset. Maybe i'm just lucky but my volume level isn't too bad. I can hear it fine and my speakerphone works like a charm. I mean sure, it would be nice if they were a bit louder. But I can deal perfectly fine with how it is right now.
If your issue is because of the size and design of the treo, then unfortunately nothing can fix that. You'll just have to settle with a headset of some sort

I have a Treo 600 and I do not use a headset of any sort with it, I just hold the handset not matter what I am doing. When I get my Treo 650 in a few weeks I will be using both of my Bluetooth headsets with it, but like what was said in the previous threads, I probably will only use it mostly when I am driving. Otherwise I do not have a problem holding the handset to my face.

I don't even use a BT headset. I have a wired Jabra EarWave, but most of the time I just use it like a regular phone. Enjoy your 650!

I have a TWH BT Headset, & in theory I like the idea of it. But realistically, I can never remember to bring it with me when I leave. I just use the handset now.
If volume is a concern, Check out VolumeCare. It simply works!!! I know... it sux that we have to pay extra for something that should have been rectified by P1, but spend the $9 for VolumeCare, & volume will not be a concern anymore!!!
