Treo 650 Voicemail Problem

I posted this on the Cingular Blue forum as well, but I figured I do it here too.

I just got my Treo 650 a few minutes ago (Cingular Blue Branded), and I put my sim card in and there's a problem. Whenever I try to dial my voicemail by pressing the voicemail softbutton, it says that the "Network cannot complete call, please try again."

I looked at the palmone site and it has an updater for treo's with older firmware, but mine has firmware 1.05 so the updater isn't really applicable, any thoughts? Thanks!

*edit* I've also tried to change it from the "Edit Favorite" screen, but I can't highlight the number or change it.

make sure the phone is reading the correct voicemail number off the SIM. go to the phone app and go to options phone info. is your correct cell number on the top under number:? also when it dials to voicemail, does it dial your correct voicemail number. i know with cingular orange, it dials a market-specific voicemail number. check that

Also, when I was in a Cingular partner market (roaming on Endless Mountain wireless), I also had trouble calling VM and got an intercept message similar to what you received. If I called my own number, it worked fine. I noticed the problem is that the VM number was adding a 1+ in front of the number. This works fine in Cingular switches, but the EMW switch did not like it. You edit the VM number under phone>options>call preferences.

yep, the "+1" was the problem. I put my sim back in my Nokia and then changed it to just "1" and the number. It works now! thanks!
