My grandpa got the silver and the earpiece is kinda similar compared to the black one. However, my earpiece sounds a little more muffled, does yours?

Low earpiece volume is a typical problem with the Vxxx series (including the V3); you can seem edit it to increase the volume (see the Motorola forum for more details), but if you don't wish to mess with the phone or just don't have the tools or the "know how," then you have to live with the low volume. I realize that the Vxxx series is among the most customizable and "hack-able" phones, but the fact that one needs to mod/hack the phone to make it do what many phones do out of the box is rather disconcerting.

very true igambit, and if you edit it the phone its much more at risk of the earpiece speaker blowing out, its a long shot that it will happen but just saying...
