I've had one goal since I started modding my phone which was to create a Custom Cingular Monsterpack with Video Recording already enabled. I was hoping that the Black RAZRs would come shipped with this, but alas.. No. So, after many hours of work and tons of help and encouragement from MotoX, my Chihuahua (Speedy), and others.. It's been completed! Without further ado, Here it is!

Q: How can I change my Video Options?
A: Goto My MEdia > Videos > (Hit the MENU Key) > Videos Setup

Q: Should I Flash or Flex with anything else after using this Monster Pack?
A: That is entirely up to you. This MP includes the absolute latest stable versions of everything for Cingular users as of 07/06/2005. You may want to use another Language Pack if you require additional languages.

Q: How can I play .3GP files on my PC or Mac?

Hey great! This makes things a lot easier.

Anyway, when flashing, should we have it set to do a master reset and master clear when done? I wasn't sure if that would erase any of the modifications you made to the flex if we did.

i already did A5 cingular flex then reflash to C0R
then enabled Video Camera...

i have a question with cingular flex...
no matter if i put IM or AIM in menu,
i get AIM app with AIM logo..
is there a way to get IM back on cingular flex?
so i can use 3rd party IM...

These are hardcoded into the MP itself. A master Reset/Clear will not change any of the modifications..

It means if your phone is already Unlocked, then this MP will not force it to be locked down by Cingular again. Some flexes will Re-lock already unlocked phones.

i would use this but i already flexed with 0A5 and reflashed with C0R and seem edited video recording lol, i dont guess theres anything this has that I dont already so i think I'll pass on this eventhough i love trying new things

Never done a monster pack before. Before I try out the new MP I thought that I would double check to make sure that I don't end up with a black razr brick. After extracting the rar file, it became a 66.1 mb file that I should flash, not flex, with multflashflex. Just making sure. Let it load restart the phone and be happy. Sound right? Thanks for all of the hard work to help out those of us out here with Cingular.

That is correct. Because the extension on the file is SHX, it will not show up as a FLEX, but as a FLASH in MFF.

Oh, one other thing.....is there a way to get to 41.C2R without blowing everythign away? I'm guessing no since all I can find is a FLEXLASH to 41.C2R.

By the way Iceman, way to go! This is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered. Got sit of 47 steps to get my phone with a Cingular Flex and latest firmware.

Now back to LP 0001

Flashed the MP and got the infamous "Flex Error Phone Subsidy-Locked" greeting. Did a search and found out about P2Kman and the deletion of " /a/mobile/system/secure_pds_init" but could not find that file after uploading files from the phone. Where should I look?

One thing I have noticed....I cannot record video. When I press capture, it goes for a split second and then says "not enough space available" or something to that effect. Thoughts?

goto settings > personalize > greeting
and delete the msg and if that file isint there when u looked then the subsidy lock msg shouldent appear again

Tried deleting it and it just comes back when you restart the phone. It has to be deleted through P2Kman. I just can't find the file.

Well to begin you are not using this flash un-edited.

This is the problem your recording length is set to Maximum. For whatever reason this option doesnt work. You need to set it to MMS.

If your using this monster pack however you will not have this problem prior to any additional SEEM edits etc.

I don't know if this is just a bug on my phone or everyones, but if you go to ring styles or as it's called in this MP, "Audio", and try to select a sound file from the audio list, the very last sound file is listed twice... can anyone else confirm this?

OK, this was asked earlier in the thread by someone else, but never really answered. I've allready FLEX'ed with A5 and seem-edited to enable video; is there anything to be gained by Flashing with this new MonsterPack? Are the menus any different? Faster, etc?

Nope. Seems like you are running 9CR? You should be fine. What have you noticed with the new flex?

Why would you use a Cingular MP on a TMobile phone? The whole allure of this MP is that it has all the Cingular network stuff in there and ready and working.

I flashed my phone and everything went just fine. The only issue I'm seeing is that the video only records about 3-5 seconds and then stops and switches to the store/discard screen as though I had pressed the stop button. I looked at the free space and it shows plenty of room (4.6MB). Am I doing something wrong?

Go to your Inbox Settings -- MMS Settings and set the limit to none.

There may be some DNS problems throughout the country, which is why some of us are having problems accessing MotoX's site...

Solution: Goto - http://surfshield.net and enter www.motox.us in there; it allows to view the site & download whats needed.

1) Press the envelope button on top of the red power off button
2) Press menu (the button right above the up arrow key)
3) Choose Inbox Setup then press the Select button
4) Hit the Change button on the MMS Message Setup
5) Scroll down to Size Limit

Ok question from a newb here (never flashed or flexed before): I purchased a Black Razr from cingular last week (cingular battery cover, not from a 2nd hand distributor) and it came with the A5 flex and the 9CR firmware. Now if I want video on my phone could I simply download p2k and SEEM edit it in, or is it necessary to flash (or flex) my phone with a different, erm, flash or flex? Would seem editing it in cause any differences in menu items, etc? Any answers for the newb here would be well appreciated! Thanks!

Yes you can edit the seems, or use the monster pack. Using the monster pack will give you the video of course, and the C0R flash.

9CR is quite a few versions behind C0R. C0R has much more responsive menu speeds and appears to be more "stable" overall in my opinion. There are also several other little things that are covered in various posts throughout the forum.

But.. Cingular is behind the times...

1) It's easy enough to flash/flex but what is this bootloader thing? Does it have to be done before or after and how?

If you are referring to the MXLP ones, I don't see why those wouldn't work

thanks. Reason I am asking is the bootloader was different. I don't know if the MXLP ones made by Motox would only work with the bootloader 0823 (since that's how he named the packs)

But those were compiled around the C0R firmware...so unless you are running older firmware than the 9xx series, those should work. AFAIK, there are no compatibility issues with the 0823 and 0826 bootloader versions.

It's just plain easier to seem edit video camera since your razr already has the updated firmware and that is all you are really adding.

Great work! I like it. Had to reload pics and ringtones, and configure everything after flashing, of course, and get rid of the sub-lock message. So far, so good! Noticed my bootloader is still 0823, or is it?

Well, you already know that the MP won't unlock your phone for you. So it really doesn't matter whether or not you get your phone unlocked first. They have nothing to do with each other.

I wouldn't agree about NOTHING - I think flex/flashing is a great reason to want my phones unlocked via a code *I* can re-enter if I mess up and apply a flex which does lock them. In that sense, I think there's *some* small connection between the two....

That's my point.... If he's going to get his phone unlocked, he may want to make sure he gets an unlock code. Depending on how/where he does the unlocking he may or may not get that code!

Fortunately, the MP posted here is unlocked so that point is moot. That is why I said it doesn't matter whether his phone is unlocked now or after.

You can delete the DL_DB_INET_RECORDS file in the /a/ folder.

That should leave your AIM intact, but back up to be sure.

will this work with my percieved bootloader? I havent kept up with the forums in some time; last i remember if I updated the bl i would not be able to re-flex to the cing088, which is needed for the cingular/att tower transfer whatchamecallit ....is this still the case with the new bl. Does this flex include the cing/att tech cabability?

Does this update include the phonebook search found in s/w R374_G_0E.41.C2R???

Your excellent directions state on the first page of this forum thread says to put on BL0823 but CINGULAR monster pack C0R states it has bootloader 8.26 ...if I put on 8.23, will I be able to start the phone to synchronize it with the flash software and acomplish this? I guess what I am asking is the result of not understanding clearly the relationship between the bootloader and the flash. I assume the 8.23 bootloader is somehow needed to get the flash going. Why does the Cingular C0R pack say it goes with bootloader 8.26? Is there a typo here? If I go to a newer bootloader will the flash on it still work (is the flash forward compatible with the bootloader)

or am I way off here?

I just want to make sure i'm doing this right. This is my first flash.

1) Start MultiFlashFlex (after phone is connected).
2) Under Enable Flash I choose the file R374_BL_08_23.shx (bootloader 8.23 refresher) I believe this is what is needed to update my bootloader since I know its older.

yep, you are only flashing the phone, not flexing so what you have stated are the right steps.

btw, is that "checker board" picture effect fixed in this MP? For those who just got your black RAZR, do you see those wiered pixelation?

Also, I noticed on MotoX' site, he has this MP and also a reflash version, is that reflash version cingular branded (ENS enabled)?

By definition, a reflash does not include a flex. So, ENS is a function on the Cingular flex. If you already have a Cingular flex, then reflashing does not affect ENS.

turn off your phone, hold * and # and while holding those two buttons press the power button, release the power button but not the other two. this takes your phone into boot loader mode, and you will be able to read the version at the top. if it doesn't say 08.23 or higher, you need to flash the 08.23 bootloader. once you do, enter boot loader mode again to make sure you have the 08.23 bootloader and then flash the monsterpack posted at the beginning of this thread

First let me say, THANK’S A TON ICE-MAN!

After reading every single post, guide, knowledge base, google search, and pretty much everything else on the internet for the last 3 months, you finally gave this cingular user something so easy I couldn’t use being scared as an excuse any longer. I couldn’t have asked for a better first time experience! Thank’s for being so gentle! LOL

Just finished flashing with no problems. No sub lock message, keypad fix, mem full errors, NADA! Even shot my first min and 30 seconds worth of video.

I do have one bone to pick though. After sitting and reading all this time. Not posting a single question, much less one without searching! Reading every single post in threads 50 pages long. Reading every NOOB guide! Yes even the one by that short guy with the brain damage! Searching my fingers to the bone and even taking up for ice’s little dog. I have never seen mention of the need to extract a .rar file to a .shx file or how or what to do it with. So after 2 hours I’m done. Yea that’s right, an hour and 50 minutes of searching to figure out how I was supposed to flash with an rar file, when I knew pst wanted a shx file, and then finding something to convert it! And 10 minutes to do it! LOL

If the search feature should happen to experience problems from over use, it was me! Bill me!

Now to really get to work deleting, seeming, restoring and all that good stuff.

Thank’s again to ICE-MAN and MOTOX for all the hard work to make it easier on us poor cingular users!

Edit for RLS....I did boot loader 1st, worked like a charm.

I'm still looking for some good feedback on the success of the latest and greatest Cingular branded MP for which this forum is running...I have started with some seem editing which is easy as pie. Got the volumes up and made it hang up from a open flip speakerphone call when flip is closed during the call...nice! Only observation, it is VERY easy to screw up seems. I made a typo in 0032-0001 and the automatic network search disappeared. I found out what locus it was and what keys were on the original seem and fixed it. Whew!! It gives emphasis to the admonishment: BACK UP EVERYTHING YOU HAVE BEFORE YOU START SO YOU CAN LOOK AT WHAT IT WAS BEFORE!!

The refresher (0823) updates the 07 version that is displayed even though your firmware might be a current 9xx version. Whether or not you have the 0823 or 0826 bootloader, you will still be able to reflash using the latest firmware...you just can't go back to an older version. If you want to verify your current bootloader version, just press the * and # keys while you power on your phone. If it is anything other than 0823 or 0826, then you will need to apply the 0823 refresher!

Bootloader =Foundation of house

Flash /flex (Monster pack) = building the first floor,etc

I'd vote for bootloader first, and then if I was do it piece-meal the flash, then the flex.

I seem to remember reading something about the border around the picture on the outer screen when taking a shot with the flip closed? If that's what you mean by 'filling the screen', I read that before I updated and checked it out. I had the same border before I updated as I do now. I just took 6 pics and sent them to another forum member who was interested in picture quality and it not only works. It works amazingly better than it did. You would not believe the difference in the speed. At least for me. I was running THE original software. I got my razr the 1st day they arrived at the store. In fact I got one of the very 1st 2 my local shop got in. The lag I had with picture capturing, texts and pretty much all menu navigation was bad, but I didn't realize how bad till now. I feel like I just upgraded from dial up to cable! lol

I'm still nervous about it...saw a lot of troubles on other forums. I wonder if they are just minimal geeks who screwed it up. Lots of people wondering why their unlocked fone is locked now that they used a locked mp. Others who have the subsidy lock error even though there is lots of verbiage about how to fix it easily. I am almost ready to do it.

I honestly can't tell you. I havn't stopped restoring, re-setting and seeming long enough to notice. Just looking this second, I still have the same crappy 2 bars I've always had. Space look like it's going to be the same if I delete all the same stuff as I had done before. Somewhere just over 8mb. I could probably push it close to 9 with another night of reading when I go back to work. I have a question on the boot loader. I got into a problem with my v600 when I upgraded to the triplets 58r flash, I later found out that I could nolonger upgrade to the 72r because of the bootloader, and the bl couldent be changed. do I need to be carefull about changing the bl on the razr?

Yeah, same here--how the heck are you supposed to see the keypad in the dark? FWIW--the keypad lights do work, just that I though they light up in darkened areas and/of if you press any button on the keypad.

reliable sources for files as this forum or motox.us specify clearly the "unlocked" ones...if your fone is unlocked, use an unlocked file...if your fone is "locked", it doesn't matter if you use an unlocked one as it will NOT unlock your fone in the case of motorola. If you dld your files from another source, you may inadvertently lock your fone if you use a locked file on it...don't do that!

Here's what I'd do... Read the above again. Note were it says ENS is enabled, flex is unlocked, etc, etc.

2nd thing I'd do is to check to see if Motokit by Kempsun, (or maybe another program) can make a "COPY" of the flex you already have on the phone.... In case you want to revert back to it....

I'd also SEARCH the net for that flex string you posted.. and see if it is "out there somewhere"... You may luck out and find the "real" Monster pack... that was/is used by service centers when doing repairs.... Again... in case you don't "like" the flex being talked about in the above link (and here in this thread).

Since this flex has ENS, it is unlocked, and has video recording I can't see you not liking it.

I have a Razr and I want to flash to Iceman's new MonsterPack for Cingular w/ Video Capture Enabled.

I have Bootloader 07.E0
S/W R374_G_0E.40.57R
Language Pack: 0003

My plan is to:

1. Use MultiFlashFlex to flash the Bootloader to 08.23

2. Use MFF to flash to the Monsterpack from Iceman.

After that, I might have to use P2Kman and delete /a/mobile/system/secure_pds_init. so I won't get an error message,

And I will have to change to video recording to MMS so I can record longer videos.

But I shouldn't have to reflash to anything else, right?

Sounds like you are ready! Yes, you need to make sure "Override existing phone software" is checked when doing ANY flashing. When you get to flashing the MP, make sure you also have the Master Clear and Master Reset boxes checked as well.

After all is said and done, you may reflash C3R which gives you multiple letter phonebook search.

I Did it!! Thank you Iceman for all the hard work!! And thank you hidden_dragon for answering my questions. I flashed to the new MP and now my phone has video recording. Everything else is working fine, too. I love it!

The only problem I came across was I got an error message when trying to flash to the new bootloader. But as soon as the USB cable fully charged my phone the flash worked with no error message.

Anyway, thanks again.

Issue. Has anyone noticed the Menus become slower with this monsterpack? I just got my phone from Cingular on Friday and it was quite speedy, did the flash/flex and it doesn't seem as zippy anymore. Any fixes, thoughts, anything at all?

The one at the beginning of this thread is from July 7, 2005 and is causing the slower menus:

S/W: R374_G_0E.41.C0R

THe one that I used to have is from July 11, 2005 had faster ones:

S/W: R374_G_0E.41.C3R_A_reflash.shx (if possible use the one w/o language packs)

It's slower because of the old revision. Also, more memory is freed up in the C3R reflash.

I am so glad you posted your observations...I have been procrastinating in applying a new firmware set listed on motox.us as a cingular unlocked one just in case such problems appear. the c0r file to which you refer is perhaps the one I intended to use to avoid losing the Cingular features including the ability to share antennas with AT&T (maybe called ESN or some such) and at the same time enables video for the camera and some other stuff I guess.
The one I have downloaded and ready to go is titled "R374_G_0E.41.C0R_PDS003_LP0003_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0E _V3_01_0AR_GSMV3xxCIN02NA0A5_VIDEO_ICEMAN_MOTOX.ra r" and works with BL 823 or 826. I am quite skiddish now that you have noticed the problem. DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THIS SLOWDOWN?

Still no go. The problem didn't start until I deleted the file that had the flex error message when you first turn it on I got that fixed but now the phonebook problem seems worse then just having that message pop up for a few sec. if that is the case. I am going to reflash and see what happens. Any know about the network settings I really want these settings so I can choose which network I want to be on. Thanks for your help.

I was able to reflash my phone and it took care of the phonebook issue, now I just can't figure out which seems to edit so I can get all of my network setting like new network, available networks and under network setup- type and speed. I tried the seem edits for xlr8 map but the didn't work. Do or anybody else have an idea how to do this, because I am sure people have this option on there phone. Thanks for your help

So just so I am 100% clear, if the software version on my V3 is of the following:

BL: 8.23
Flex: GSMV3xxCIN02NA0A5
Firmware: R374_G_0E.40.9CR

Can I then do a seem edit to enable Video Record or do I still need to apply this monster pack?

Just do the seem edits...that is A LOT easier than installing a full monster pack!

another thing...saw on another board someone who complained his razr is less responsive (slower menu operation, etc.) after application of a video enabled monster pack... I have found R374_G_0E.41.C0R_PDS003_LP0003_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0E _V3_01_0AR_GSMV3xxCIN02NA0A5_VIDEO_ICEMAN_MOTOX.ra r which it appears is for my cingular locked fone so I will retain all the cingular features. Is that the one to use? Are there any reliable reports of problems applying that (other than goofs and mishaps)? ...tia!

Its great but it has that problem where the speakerphone won;t function with the flip closed. I thought I could live with it but it really has been annoying me. Is there a stock moto monsterpack that doesn;t have this problem but DOES has video enabled?

The download link says Cingular (ORANGE) - what about those of us who are Cingular BLUE (former ATTWS customers) who have the Razr V3? Can I use this MonsterPack to upgrade my Razr V3?

I've been having a lot of problems with it lately, namely BlueTooth (says "BlueTooth module not installed" until I reboot, or BT not working at all until I re-sync with the headset.)

edit: feedyourhead311 - why did you flash with an *old* MonsterPack from Apr.26.05? The newest one on MotoX's site is dated Jul.05.05 and fixes those problems (which you can also fix thru a SEEm edit, search on it.)

Hey, I'm a former ATT customer also...That's one big reason i don't want any Cingular branding. I tried to use the lastest stock moto monsterpack but was having some problems unzipping the file so I went with the next best one. Maybe its me. I'll give it another shot.

Has anyone used the latest stock moto monsterpack from Motox (Great stuff by the way Motox, thanks!)? Does everything including the speakerphone work correctly? Appreciate it. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure my Cingular Blue RAZR V3 has Cingular branding. I get the Cingular logo when I boot up, etc. I don't see a problem with it.

I just want to be sure that flashign with the latest MonsterPack from MotoX won't harm anything for us Cingular BLUE customers.

I think you might have to just reconfigure your web access settings.. mMode and such.. instead of my account

as for me I just flashed my phone using the latest stock moto monsterpack from Motox and i had 2 problems. First, the speakerphone still disconnected when i closed the lid. Second, i was unable to store numbers, the phone was not registering that I was typing anything on the keypad.

I flashed again with the next to latest monsterpack...phonebook is okay but the speakerphone is still messed up. Has anyone been able to fix this problem? So far the only versions i've found where the speakerphone still works with the flip closed are not video enabled. I would really like to have both the features.

I'm not worried about it locking it (as a Foundation customer, my phone has to remain unlocked), what I'm concerned with is that the firmware is for Cingular Orange, and I'm Cingular Blue. There *shouldn't* be any issues...but one can never tell, as there aren't many of us left.

Like I said before, it's a SEEM edit to re-enable speakerphone w/ the flip closed.

A quick search reveals:

Talk on the V3 razr while closed: open seem 0032 find 8A and click on it (it will show what offset you are on in the bottom left) and then click tools > bit manipulation and to make it so that when u close the phone speakerphone will stay on just UNCHECK the box beside bit 2 - tyl3r

It's also in Lord Farkward's n00b guide.

http://xlr8.us/hofo/map.txt has that feature in the list...you must be able to do "seem" editing ...here'sa guide for that http://xlr8.us/hofo/ and you will need a p2k app and a hex editor to do it which you can get at the links in that guide or at http://motorola.j2d2.net/ and a usb cable (eBay) or bt connection to take the "seem" file in and out of your fone...

Hopefully you guys can help me now: I'm trying to figure out how to backup my phonebook and pictures so I don't lose them. I have PST and P2kman, but I can't figure out how with either (or if they're even the right one.) With PST, there was an option to read from the phone, but it errors out and tells me the phone doesn't support phonebook?!?!?

I'm lost...help.

use MPT for that...when you do sync it has a "backup" feature where you can backup your phonebook and your calendar separately or together!!

OK, I need some help guys!

I flashed with the latest from MotoX. After flashing, I got the "flex error: phone subsidy-locked" error message. I tried the fix from here, but I don't understand what "change the greeting" means? I rebooted the phone after I deleting the file but I still get the error.

I checked the boot loader - it still shows 07.E0. Should I manually update it to the latest one?

Of course, I now see the differences...before, I had the Cingular Blue flex - meaning it showed the AT&T Wireless mMode instead of the Cingular "MEdia Mall" and crap. I should have made a full backup, but I didn't, so I can't go back. Ah well...it's not too bad.

edit: AAAAAHHHHHH! I LOST ALL MY GAMES! It had a golf game and several others!

Does ANYONE know how to get them back?!?!?!?

edit (2): Bah...I do NOT like the Cingular Flex. :-\ I WISH someone else had a ATT Flex file (it's a 57R) so I could go back. Stupid me, should have made a backup...anyway, I'm going to flash the phone with the unbranded/stock Moto 9CR.

1. From AnalogTiger:
1. Use one of the p2k programs and delete the secure_pds_init file in the a/mobile/system/ directory of the phone.
2. BEFORE you restart the phone, go into the Settings>Personalize>Greeting menu and delete the startup message or change to something else if you'd like.
3. Then reboot the phone and the message shouldn't come back.
4. The key is to first delete that file, then change or delete the greeting msg, then restart.

2. The boot loader was updated. 07.E0 is a glitch.

3. Rule 1: Always backup before doing anything.

4. Yes you lost everything. See #3.

5. Since you flashed up and upgraded the boot loader you cant go back to the 57R because of the bootloader not being compatible.

Flex Version: GSMV3xxT674TA09E monsterpack from MotoX, and when it said "Personalize your phone?" I saw the greeting message.

EDIT: Woo-hoo! The games I had previously are on the stock Moto flex! SWEET!

Questions:

I deleted the greeting msg, but set it to nothing. I rebooted the phone, but it still asks me to "Personalize phone?" When I try to type something into the greeting, I can't get the keys to work. They all work, though, when I go to anything else.

OK, rather than editing my previous post, I thought I'd post the details on what I, as a Cingular Blue customer, found out: the Motorola V3 that Cingular Blue customers have is not only unlocked, it uses the stock Motorola Flex file.

The games I had previously are all there, and nothing else has changed, except mMode isn't displayed (it says WebAccess instead.) Other than that, my V3 is exactly the way it was previously. I re-flashed my phone with the latest "unbranded/stock Moto" files from MotoX.

Haven't seen any speed changes...well, the phonebook might be a *tad* bit faster now. Still trying to figure out how to set the "hold 1 to dial VM" feature, but I'm sure I'll either figure it out, or someone will post and tell me.

I need to re-download my skins, since I forgot to save them first - no big deal. Other than that, I should be stress-testing it tomorrow on calls and whatnot, using BT, so we'll see if it's any better.

Having seen the Cingular-branded Flex, I have to say: yuck.

I much prefer the stock Moto, and I can see why people want to unbrand Cingular.

edit: OK, odd issue...I went to add a new contact, was going to set it up as Voicemail. When I go to type the name, it won't let me type letters when it's on Abc1(up arrow). WTF?!?!? - Answer: well, somehow it was set to iTap Francais, which wouldn't work right until I set it to english. D'oh! Fized that one....

Phone kept asking me to personalize it, I finally said no, and to not ask again on reboot. Deleting the boot message removed the "subsidy lock" message, so nothing displays on that now.

Lotsa questions...poking around MotoX's website, I see R374_G_0E.41.C3R_A_reflash.shx - what would that file do for me? Can I use it to update to the latest flash, while still keeping the latest Moto-stock flex? What about the R374_G_0E.41.C3R_A_reflash_mlp_MOTOX.shx? That's the same thing minus the language pack, right?

And...how do I change the graphic on the outer LCD to the Cingular logo? I kinda liked that one for some sick reason...

Also, I now have a green triangle icon showing up, next to the BlueTooth icon. What the heck is that for?!?!?!?

edit: Geez, I should search more often...OK, it's the roaming icon. Now, I realize I can turn it off via a SEEM edit, but that disables it forever, right? So if I travel out of state (and would actually be roaming), it wouldn't come on, would it?

Edit 2: OK, I did the SEEM edit to enable "Press and hold 1 to dial VM", but it won't work. Any advice from those who know way more than I do?

Yes. I checked that, and the number is present under MESSAGES - MENU - VOICEMAIL SETUP. I can go to MESSAGES, choose VOICEMAIL, and it dials my VM.

Any ideas? When I do the SEEM edit on 0032.0001 (uncheck bit 1), then reboot the phone, the "press 1 to dial VM" doesn't work (it says "Speed No.1 empty"), and there's a stange icon to the right of the BT symbol. It looks like a pacman with the number 1 next to it. If I change the SEEM back (bit 1 is checked), the icon goes away but the error msg is the same.

I'm trying to upload a pic of the SEEM - hopefully this works. Is this the right place to edit? The lower left-hand corner of XVI32 says Adr. Hex: 2

Try this:

Download the 0032_0001 seem with p2kman and open it up with moto-tool and put a check here:

Save in moto-tool and reupload with p2kman, click restart the phone. After the phone restarts press and hold the 1 button and see if that works.

hey i updated my bootloader to 823 and installed the monsterpack from ice man 41.c.0r and when i rebooted and checked the bootloader was still 8.23 is that normal>? how do i get the 8.26??

and is there a reason for me to flex? im happy with what i have... what might i be missing out on?

I'm sorry, hopefully this noob question has not been answered elsewhere. I have searched, read, browsed...and I am still lost.

My question concerns PST. I have installed it (sucessfully I think) and my phone shows up as being connected.

BUT.... the only file type that MFF will look for is a superfile with a .shx extension.

The 41.C0R flash file and 8.23 bootloader are both .rar files.

I know I must be missing the obvious.... help?
