Hey, I saw the s710a at a corp store for $399 - $100 rebate if you signed up for prepaid service...is that the same everywhere else?

It's in the East Bay, CA.

yes, it's the same as if you purchase it with no contract.

No contract doesn't get the rebate.

according to the rebate form I used, it said that existing customers can upgrade their equipment without extending their contracts, and still receive their rebate.

what sense does that make? on all the rebates it clearly states you must upgrade or start a 2 year contract in order to qualify

Actually some of the rebates do not require a contract extension and can also be applied to gophones.

AH yeah your right i remember not to long ago that Sony had that 30 dollar rebate for Z500 customers as long as you were a current cingular customer (proof of existing line required)

1 year contracts and no commitment purchases no longer receive mail-in rebates. 2yr and gophone only.

Where did you guys get your rebate forms for the s710?

Posted by: eimajuno

In addition to sigining up for a 2yr, for certain phones you need to sign up for media basic or works and stay online with it for 6 months to get your rebate. Kinda crappy if you ask me. I am not sure if this is for all markets but it stands in the So Cal LA/OC market.

The 100$ s710 rebate applies to 1yr, 2yr and no commitment pricing. This is in the VA market.

This also applies to the San Francisco Market. The only catch is that it asks for an existing or new cingular phone number for the rebate form.
