I just got everthing today and am trying to get it to work... Im using bitpim so....first off, my 8910 is considered a 'Other CDMA phone' correct?

the back of my data cable package it says the driver im looking for is called ser9pl.inf. I have ser9pl.sys, and dloaded prolific drivers from futuredial.com. What am I doing wrong or what else do I need?

I also have a CD with cur_XXX vxd's/sys's/inf's. Do I use these for anything If im gonna use bitpim?

Ok, since everyone's having a problem...

BitPim with the 89xx...

Settings :

Disk Storage : <anywhere you want>
Phone Type : OTHER FREAKIN CDMA PHONE
Com Port : Check your modem properties to find out what modem port

Once you've set it up, click the [+] for your file system, and it will try and read your phone... it may take a minute or two... relax...

for the 8910 (Verzion/Alltel)

Ringtones :

User>Sounds>Ringer
put MP3's or MIDI's in here

Images:

BREW>Shared
put .jpg, .png, or .gif in here... (suggested image size is 128x132, and multipuls there of)

to get pictures you taken, go to :
BREW>Shared>jpeg

right click, save as...

DO NOT DELETE THE PICTURE ONCE YOU'VE SAVED IT IN BITPIM!!!
delete it on the phone... not in BitPim... if you delete it in BitPim, you could SEVERLY screw up your phone, rendering it a nice paperweight.

Now, to get your phone to see the new ringtones, and images, open your GetItNow! or Axcess programs... let it load the main menu, then exit out. when you browse to Menu>6, all your new files will be there...
