Why is this relevant?

Well they use 850 like us and usually if they get a phone that means we can too Unfortunately their 6682 is sort of later than I would like

8801 supposed to be $500 CAD on a 3 year
6682 supposed to be $250 CAD on a 3 year

kinda like some other people are buying the v635 Rogers branded

'cept for that the 6682 is one of those newer phones that no one can really unlock at the moment, like the 6630, so a Rogers one would be pretty useless to a Cingular guy. Hopefully Cingular'll release it sooner than September anyways.

8801 ain't coming to Cingular so buy it from the McKenzie Bros while you can

personally im pretty p'd right now. I was looking forward to the Nokia 8801 coming to cingular. Come to find out that Cingular didn't want the phone because it was going to cost too much. Personally I would pay the money for a phone that Porcshe developed the metal housing and Rolex developed the crystal display for near scracth-proof resistance. DARNIT!!

Three year contract? You've got be kidding me. That is almost like leasing a car. There would be no way that I would get a contract of 2 or 3 years, ever. I am not in contract currently, and probably won't unless I switch providers. And even if I do, I would only do a one year contract.

Lol. Cingular, you crazy NUTS. You sold the RAZR like CRAZY for $500 with a two year contract, shoot, the stores here in Abilene were selling them like crazy at RETAIL, much less w/ a contract. Why would you carry the RAZR and not the 8801. Not that I care, I don't really desire either phone, just interesting to me.

Why the heck not? Let me guess, Nokia wouldn't make it exclusive to Cingular?

Good for them, though - Nokia shouldn't be Cingular's *****, unlike Moto...

I thought Cingular WAS carrying the 8801. If they're not, who is in the US?

Posted by: anotheran

That would be like a perfect world if Rogers gets the 6682 on Sept 2. I'd HUP and pick it up for sure on that date. I might even pick up a 8801 if i'm really jolly

But I somehow have doubts about that since Treatz hasn't picked up a version ahead of everyone else yet (disregarding the protos he had a couple months back)

3 year contract? they better give me 2 or 3 6682's free for that kind of commitment!!

Considering the price is projected to be $50-$100 lower than what you'll pay for the Cingular 6682, I'd say we get a pretty good deal. The V635 is $150 on a 3yr act here, you'd probably pay $250+ for it if Cingular picked it up...

And we can still upgrade at 2 years minimum, up to every month if you're a high roller...

Another thing you should consider: The top three carriers in the US (Cingular, Verizon, Sprixtel) - they have more customers than the population of Canada. T-Mobile, the #4, I believe has more customers than there are people in Canada with cell phones. Competition hasn't really kicked into gear in Canada yet.
