good phones?

I'm switching to Cingular and I've been reading reviews on Cingular phones. The ones I like have good reviews but then there's the bad ones that always change my mind. This is what I would like in a phone:
Camera phone
Flip phone
Downloadable ringtones
good reception
loud ringing and vibrate
a screen on the outside of the phone. big or small, doesn't matter as long as it tells who is calling, time, etc.
and possibly speakerphone but not totally necessary. I've been looking at these: LG L1400i, Motorola V551, and Motorola V220.
With the LG L1400i, can you change the screen on the outside?
Any ideas on good phones (under $100) with most of the things I wanted above?

Looks like the outer display of the Lg1400i shows whatever wallpaper you have on the main screen. I have no clue if you can change that or not.

There is a $100 online discount on the Samsung P207 which takes the price to $99, so I would probably get that one ( I have no clue if the phone has a good reception though ).

I wanted a flip phone which the Samsung P207 is not.

Take another look. He said the P207, NOT the C207 (which is a cheap candybar ). The first is a flip phone and meets your requirements.

I have the V551 and love it. Probably the best out of the ones that you mentioned and it also has bluetooth and video if you think you might use that at some point.

The Samsung P207 seems to be a very good alternative to the 551 without bluetooth.

I have a friend that has a LG1400i and loves it. Nice solid phone but I think the ringer is not going to be loud enough for you.

Stay away from the V220.

With the V551, how is the battery?

My wife and I both have one and have had no trouble with it at all.

I don't use bluetooth which I have read really drains the battery but I make about 600 miinutes worth of calls per month and charge it every 5-6 days when it drops it's first battery bar.

I made sure to charge it fully before I even turned it on and drained it until I was getting the low battery warning before charging it. I did that twice and it has been rock solid.

Among the phones that you listed, I suggest the V551. It's a very good phone.

Its been said before but worth repeating: the V551 with the latest firmware has good battery life...just took a few updates to get some problems ironed out. Given your requirements, the V551 would be a good fit.
