What you're probably doing is trying to put BREW games on your 8000. This is not going to work. Brew applications are digitally signed to your phones ESN thus making it impossible to play "owned games" on your new phone. Java applications are a different story although many on here say that the 8000 does not allow Java games to be accessed and played. This is what verizon does. They make you buy the same game that you already own on a different phone.

You can put the games on the phone, but they will stay in the directory but never run into the phone routine.
Ive done it they hold in the filesystem, but never show themselves on the phone itself.

Try changing the port settings. See where your phone shows up in the device manager, and make sure BitPIM is configured to use the right port.

try using these drivers and the software>>> http://global.mobileaction.com/download/download.jsp

I sometimes use the mobile manager to verify that my phone and pc are set right, I am prety sure the mobile manager will do what your asking.
