OK, I got the USB drivers loaded on my computer.

Now i know the USB port that i am using is COM 6.

However when I run bitpim using the setting for other cdma phone and com 6 i get an error message

com 6 could not open port: (2, "Create File", the system cannot find the file specified)

WTF does that mean?

From BitPim help page for that error message: BitPim couldn't open the device. There could be many reasons for this, such as it being in use by another program, or you not having permission to use it.

Is there any way you can try a different com port?
Sometimes the drivers open more than one com port for the phone.
I know with my VX7000, it opens two different com ports when I installed the drivers. It is listed in the Windows XP Device Manager as a LGE CDMA USB Modem on Com 7, and it is also listed as a LGE CDMA USB Serial Port on Com 2.
I have to connect to BitPim on Com 2.

What was the problem? Was it a different port as I thought?

Looking forward to see if you can add tones through bitpim.

I got the BitPim to work by adding all of my stuff onto the tabs, Wallpapers, ringers, etc. then just hitting "Download to phone"

I kept getting the No phone detected error, but it would send, just not receive. Anyone else have this problem?

I could not get my phone book to transfer so if you have any idea on that, please let me know!

I need my phonebook!
