the 6102 is supposed to be out sometime in September, it's a Nokia flip, no bt, think of it as a competitor to the v220.

Nokia finally offers a flip. AND it's no better than a V220. Big deal. Way to go nokia.

wirelessimports.com sells the Nokia 6170; it supports both the 850Mhz and the 1900Mhz. It's $289 and, yes, they're reliable; I've dealt with them before. In fact, the owner occasionally post in these forums. I am actually surprised that no one talks about this phone. I mean, according to phonescoop.com, it's a "full-featured GSM clamshell camera phone with a sleek stainless-steel design and internal antenna. Features include dual color displays, EDGE high-speed data (class 10), Push-To-Talk, VGA camera with video capture, streaming video playback, and speakerphone." Except for its lack of Bluetooth, the phone is arguably worth the price.

Truer words have never been spoken.

yes in fact i'm going to be replacing the v400s my family has for these new 6102s. I can't wait.

Saw the Nokias 6101 with net monitor last night. Extremely nice for a Flip Phone! Someone got smart at Nokia & wrote FW which allows WAP Web sessions to continue even when the FLIPPER is shut!

I've been looking to upgrade my v400 as well, and I would definitely consider getting a Nokia, but I was really looking forward to a phone with bluetooth and a megapixel camera, so it looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer if I want a Nokia flip.

how about a slider? the 6270 quadband is coming out in 4th quarter (nov/dec), and it's very impressive. check out the 6270 thread in the nokia forums for some pics of the new series 40 v3 and statistics.

I realize that it's not a flip, but the Nokia 6682, which should be released soon, will have everything else that you want. A flip would be nice, but the one advantage of a candybar phone is the lack of moving parts.

Nokia does have a flip with BT, but it is CDMA.

Not true, the Nokia 6260 is a GSM flip/clamshell phone with Bluetooth. Anyway, if they ever decide to make an American version of the N90 I might have to auction off some family members.

Unfortunately the 6260 has no 850mhz, it's huge, and doesn't even have an external display. The n90 is rumored to have no vibrate motor at all in the phone, since Carl Zeiss was woried that the vibrate would break his precious lens.

Nokia is the king of candybar phones. Their flip or clamshell phones are crap. If you want a flip phone, go for a Moto or Samsung.

Some variants of the 6260 have the 850Mhz band; besides, I was just pointing out the fact that there was/is a Nokia flip/clamshell phone with Bluetooth. I wasn't suggesting that it should be or can be considered, so the feature set and the design are moot points; besides, that's all an issue of personal preference. As to the N90, I highly doubt that rumor, because even Nokia's website (and phonescoop.com) lists the vibration feature.

The 6260 was a big disappointment to me. I have one and I have only talked on it for about 1 hour and have not used it in over 4 months. I am getting rid of it and getting a Treo 650. See ya nokia.

I don't doubt that, but, again, I only mentioned it to point out that there is a Nokia flip/clamshell phone with Bluetooth. I didn't mention it to say that it was any good or that anyone should consider buying it, but rather to point out that such a Nokia phone does exist.

I have to fully agree with that.

I may even sell a couple days or months or years of my life.

Who cares about size? As long as it's got features to back up it's bulk I'll take it. And 2MP, and one awesome screen is enough. Now, when is that 850 version coming?

That's my question. I need to decide on which family members to auction off and thus figure out how much time I have to convince myself and them to actually put themselves up for sale.

N90 is a flip so it has to be the N70 for me

Posted by: microchip13

Yea, if I really wanted to I could sell my computers, xbox, camera, iPod and everything else, then I could buy a really nice phone, but it's not worth it for a phone almost. Now, selling everything for a car might be worth it.

I can't wait till I get my permit! Should be sometime this week!!!!!
