Before I update to the Chinese ROM 3.45, I wanted to save my ATT startup and showdown screens.

Does anyone know the directory path where these are located on the phone?

In the \Windows directory. Thats where the Cingular ones where stored on 1.430.

how can u save them when they're protected in ROM or something?

You can copy, you can save them. You can't delete them.

I have a .cab file that will install the OEM US startup screens (windows mobile, and get rid of go tone) that you can run after you update the ROM, there is no need to save any of the screens from the previous ROM, just PM me your email and I will send it over, works like a charm and is much faster than saving and copying your old ones
