I have created some pics that are resized/cropped to 176X220. They fit perfectly on the MPx220's screen. They are designed for changing your bootup/shutdown screens to something more exciting then an Orange X-man blob of a person, and I know seeing a Microsoft Logo is super cool
You could use these for wallpapers, but ideally wallpapers should be 176X200.
Their is a couple of ways to install these, use either Smartione or PHM Reg Editor and change the registry. Or use the attached program and copy it to you phone and run it.
First I recommend creating a folder in your Storage Folder and call it SC. Copy all pics you want to use into this folder. Run the attached program and enter your 4 pics you want to use. Example \Storage\SC\LCSP.gif

Or go to the following registry and change them to the location of the pics.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/Splash Screen
Then change the 4 Bitmap keys to the location of the pics, also you can change the length of time these pics will display by changing the Timeout keys to different lengths. So 2000 is 2 seconds and 15000 is 15 seconds

Right Click and select Save Picture As

If anyone wants me to make them a custom picture from one of your favorite pictures, send it to me at shanelee213@hotmail.com and I'll see what I can do.

Are you using 1.43 ATTWS official version ? How is your experience with that ROM ? I am using 3.45(Chinese Version) and planning to go back to offical 1.43... How is the sound levels ? ( Have you ever tried 3.45 ROM ?? )...I would appreciate if you can share your experience !!!

Also boot screen images are grat ! Thanks A Lot

I'll jump in on my experience. I have a un-branded model which came with ROM 1.15. After going to 1.25 and then 1.29, I finally upgraded to 3.45 2 weeks ago. The call volume for me is louder. I won't say it's really loud, but it's way better than the previous ROM's. Unfortunately, my 3rd party app that allows me to connect to my office e-mail has a problem with this ROM version, so I'm back to carrying my Blackberry. Don't really care however because the call volume does, IMO, make that much of a difference.

I've tried most of the ROMS out there including 3.45. I decided to go back to 1.43 becuase it took too much registry tweaking for me to get 3.45 the way I wanted it. And since I do alot of reg tweaking anyways I occasionally screw up my phone and have to reflash it So a quick reflash to 1.43 and I'm able to use my phone immediately.
I didn't like the small fonts of 3.45, even after I was able to change the fonts to bold.
I didn't like the European Chic's Voice in speech recognition
I didn't like the lack of a Caller ID menu and a few other minor problems.
I don't know if my 1.43 is official or not, I downloaded it somewhere. I tried Cingular's ROM both official and regular, and I decided to stick wi ATT's. Where I live my phone will occasionally switch towers and it will say I'm roaming. With ATT's it has network selection and I can switch back to the regular tower. I do have a plan with roaming but didn't like the idea.
I think the call volume in 1.43 and 3.45 are the same. I really really miss WMP10, but it wasn't worth the headaches and tweaking.

I did the same thing...tried the 3.45 and 3.46 ROM but did not like all the tweaking so I reflashed back to Cingular 1.43 (my carrier is Cingular). When I booted the phone everything worked. I made a few tweaks and like the phone as is. I used Betaplayer so I don't miss WP10 at all.

Thanks for the FEEDBACK ! I am going to FLASH back to 1.43 from 3.45 (didn't like 3.46 as my phone froze many times)today. My main concern was sound level...There is no solution to increase it ! At least I can use the call ID feature and I hate the ROAMING indicator, too.

Man you guys couldn't do a couple of registry edits....tisk tisk tisk....I like 3.45 for many other reasons than just WMP10...I like that too but BT on 3.45 beats all ROM's I have used hands down....My phone rarely freezes, locks up and has never shut itself off. I love the 3.45 ROM....but I guess I like tweaking and yea I have tweaked it so much that it probably doesn't even resemble what it was when I first flashed it...but I don't worry, if the phone does go haywire on me, I have all me settings, registry edits, files system adjustments, registry entries that I made, and every other tweak and or hack I have done listed and archived on my computer and my jump drive.

Completely agree. While I stated earlier that my office e-mail doesn't work, it didn't work on 1.15 or 1.25 either. It only started working when I went to 1.29. That being said, the call volume and battery life is much better on 3.45. Also, mine doesn't crash or freeze. I've got loads of apps, movies, music and it just keeps crankin'!!

OMEGA ! I barely use WMP10...I did some registry edits, too but I am tired of doing the same edits after each hard reset...I don't use bluetooth headset yet (just ordered one- I will receive it in few days ) What type of problems did you have with bluetooth connection on 1.43 version ?
You are the expert on MPX220 forum so your advice is highly appreciated...

Am I going to have serious problem with bluetooth headset if I downgrade to 1.43 offical ROM from 3.45 ROM ( I tried 3.46 for 2 weeks and phone froze many times) ?

You will not have any problems with a BT headset with 1.430. A BT headset has always worked great even with the buggy 1.30 ROM. I use BT for other things, like networking, audio gateway, OBEX, PIM Transfer just to name a few. In 1.30 it sucked most BT profiles the phone supported wouldn't work correctly or at all, BT ActiveSync was very spotty. With 1.430 things improved but boy did BT drain the battery alot faster than what I was used to, whats worse is when you got done doing a a OBEX transfer the phone wouldn't turn of OBEX so it stayed connected to my computer draining the battery even faster, I had to turn BT on and off to break the connection. BT ActiveSync was much better, and Audio Gateway actually worked. Now with 3.45...everything works, flawlessly, BT ActiveSync, OBEX closes the connection after the transfer or exchange of files, Audio Gateway shut off when I activated my BT headset on my phone and woudn't connect back to my computer until I turned off the BT headset (which is what I wanted). PIM transfer worked great and actually added them directly to Outlook instead of just making a .csv file. Oh and yea because BT shut off the respective BT profiles when I was done using them my battery life increased by 30% almost as I keep BT on all the time.

Thats just the improvement on BT, oh and don't forget the abilty to set the COM port on the phone so you can easily set up a BT GPS reciver without doing a registry edit....there are a whole lot of other things that I have noticed/discovered with this ROM....1.430 doesn't touch it IMHO but to each there own...if 1.430 works for you and gets the job done then use it!
