Hi!
Here is my Tool for editing Skins!
It's made for the E1000 but it's possible that it works for others, too.
But this is not yet tested.
In the program you could find the link to a board where i often upload updates.
Sorry, but it's in german language, but i will do a translation module soon.

I'm hoping so to, because I wanted to try and use it to make skins for 128 x 128 screen's if possiable.

It could be possible, but i'm not sure if it works without problems with smaller skins. But normally it have to work. If not say me what goes wrong and i will try to fix it.

Ok, here is an Update!
Now you could change all colors of the skin or all all colors with the same value with 2 clicks.

E1000Skinner looks really good. You put a lot of work into that.
I have the e815 which uses 176x220 like v710. I will be trying your program and will let you know how it goes with the smaller size.

I'm right now on it to make it kompatible to all Motos.
Yes, the E815 has the same Resolution than the Vxxx, but the skin differs to theirs!
I have one already (without Wallpaper), but it would be good if you could send me the original skin from the E815, too!

@all others:
It would be good if you send me the original moto skins from each moto. So i could do it kompatible to all motos! Thank you all!

!!! E1000Skinner is now skinner4moto !!!

Now it's ready for E1000, E815, E398, Vxxx! And open for all others!

When you want to edit a skin which is not yet supported, send me the original "moto" skin of your phone.

Many bugs are fixed! (i hope i did not to much new ones in it);-)
You could start skinner4moto now up to 10 times, so you could better compare your skins.
Watch out, the Gif-Directory is now placed in the actually opened skin.
Jpg's are now exported and imported, too! (important for mobiles with a second display E815)

Ok, sounds great. And we can open as many as 10 to compare different skins.
I will grab it now, but must finish my work before I can play with it..

Now you could install the skins directly with skinner4moto via P2KCommander.
"*.p2kc" files are created which you could deliver with your skin, so every n00b user could easily install your skin with double click on this "*.p2kc" file.

With skinner4moto v0.2.5 and P2kCommander-V3.2.1 installing the skins with "*.p2kc" files worked fine. But not the uninstallation.
Ok, get skinner4moto v0.2.6 to create correct uninstallation "*.p2kc" files and get P2kCommander-V3.2.2 to use them! Have fun!

Hehe ok, that's not a bug, only a not yet implemented feature!
Never thought about this, cause the most skinners are using wallpapers with the correct size of the display!
But when i have time for it i will add this feature! ;-)

The Xp Blue Skin is none of mine.
But i think you mean my skin XB-Blue of my XB-Series for E1000!?

Someone has already converted them for Vxxx phones.
You could get them here:
XB-Series for Vxxx

But when i have my next skinner4moto version ready, there will be an automatic gif conversation in it, and then i will make my skins compatible to all mobiles.

!!! here comes skinner4moto version 0.2.7 !!!

You now could create "*.s4m" files to distribute your skin in one file as a packet.
Double clicking this file opens a dialog with preview and options to install, uninstall, extract or to open the skin in skinner4moto.

Importing gifs from other skins is now possible with automatic resizing to the size of your loaded skin. (So i did a Techno Skin for my E1000 in 20s)

And a few smaller features, like selecting partition to "c" for i398 and E1 ROKR, or setting Wallpaper for E815 users to /motorola/shared/picture/ .....

Ok, i uploaded a new version: skinner4moto 0.2.8mod

Now you could make 3x4 menus and Fullscreen Caller ID's with skinner4moto by a few simple mouse clicks.
Read the textfile in the "Moddings" directory which is new in skinner4moto.

And another new big thing:
Now it's really easy to convert a skin for every mobile which has the same resolution!

Converting skins with the "Font-Problem" (e.g. V3 -> E815 or V980):

1. Install skinner4moto v0.2.8 with the corresponding module for your mobile and select your model(e.g. E815, V980/V975) in the Options.
2. Simply open the incompatible skin in skinner4moto.
3. Click on "Font-Fix".
4. Save the skin and upload it to your mobile.
5. Have Fun!

Converting skins without the "Font-Problem" (e.g. E815 -> V3) is same like the instructions above, but without (3.) clicking on "Font-Fix"

knapster, just so you know and dont waste your time, the v220 and v180 with the 128 x 128 screen doesnt use skins. just color profiles. figure id let you know before you wasted some of your time implementing that feature into your awsome program. thanx to the both of you BTW,

Yes they are only for the inner display.
If someone tells me how to do it for the outer one, i think i could do a
modding for this, too!
I only have a E1000, there is no outer display!

I don't have any experiences with Win Server 2003 and don't know where the differences are!
I think my GUI Library could not handle this.

I think that it works.
The V550 and the V3 skins for example have a few differences and skins for them are working on both.
Ok this is not perfect but it works.
I only named the modules for the modules i have the original moto skins.
If you would send me the V551 stock "Moto" skin i could compare it with the others and tell you if it's the same like an existing module.
If not i'll make a module out of yout Moto skin.

Hey guys, I followed all the tutorials and instructions to a T... but whenever I try and install or even open P2KCommander 3.2.6 it says some stuff about noob reminder "partition is /a" then I click it away and the whole prog instantly crashes! I've got the old 8/x/xxxx usbser.sys files installed correctly and things work with MPT, so what's going wrong? Each time P2k loads and I click away that noob reminder, it crashes no matter what. I've tried reinstalling, checked that the proper system files and device drivers were loaded, but it still crashes automatically

Can someone help me out a little, thanks.

What we need is to try and map each sprite location ID. When I was making a skin for my v635 I found 80x80 pixel square (ID # 984 in the Position/Size) tab. it looks suspiciously like mapping for the rear display!

I'm having a slight problem with the Skinner software. I can run it and things but I can't fully see the input fields (see attached image). I've played around with my display settings and things but no matter what I've tried I can't get it to display properly. are you using a windows theme application like style XP or window blinds? try changing your theme to windows Classic and the default colors. It looks to me like your defaul font maybe mucking things up
