I have read different posts all over the place for 2-days!!! Can someone please tell me if there is a USB Driver for the LG VX4650 Phone, and what the correct USB cable is? I am running Windows XP Pro. I have donwloaded and installed the Bitpim software, and I have all of my contacts from Outlook XP imported. I would really like to be able to get this info into the phone without using the keypad to get it in there

Thank you for any info that you have.

For cable and drivers try the ones from Susteen . I've used it for vx4700, 3200, and 6100.

I wonder if this will work with the VX4650?? I find it hard to beleive they release a phone without support to do what people normally do with them.

It always takes time for support to be release. The drivers and cable will work with the vx4650 since it the same phone as the vx4700 but w/o PTT. The Datapilot software will not work until an update version is release which my guess would be a few weeks.

Thank you for the info. I sent an e-mail to the DataPilot folks to see what they had to say on the 4650, but I have yet to hear back from them.

LG and Verizon are starting to have more info on their web site on the 6450 now. They are starting to say something about a USB data cable and phone book manager software too. Just in case anyone was interested.

For the people that have been looking for a cable for this phone. I went to Verizon and bought the cable they had and the office kit. The kit did not work for Windows XP. I took it back, and got my money back, but I did have then up-load my contact info to my phone with thier Windows 2000 PC. The kit was $43.00.

What I did find is the cable for a 6100 and 8000 works for this phone. I have bought one off off e-bay and I hope that it is at my house when I get back there in a few days.

The verizon cable is a straight cable and I think that the one I have coming is the one with a block in the middle (cross over?) of it. I will be looking to see if it will work with BITPIM or maybe Data Pilot.

I hope that this info is able to help some others out there that has been looking for a cable for this phone. I will update again after I have more info.

I just received a cable I purchased off of ebay for a 4650. The link is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...eName=WDVW&rd=1

The cable works great, prefect fit and charges the phone. I even got the drivers installed correctly, I verified that my computer could communicate with my phone. But I tried both BitPim and DataPilot and it was a no-go. With BitPim I could add/delete contacts using the settings for a VX4400 phone but that was it. I am hoping something comes out soon!

I believe that in order to use Datapilot, you have to use their usb cable. Their cable does work Bitpim and QPST. Try using QPST to upload images and ringtones. Do a search for it on Yahoo or Google.

In Bitpim try changing the phone setting to VX4600US. Dalite posted that this setting was used for uploading images. Don't know if this will work since I use QPST & Datapilot. Here is the link .

I called Data Pilot and they are planning on supporting this phone within the next 2-weeks. I have used their cable, and the functionality with BitPim and QPST is very limited at best. I have been able to up-load one image that I can see on the phone, but the other 5 that I have uploaded I can not see them on the phone, but both QPST and Bitpim see them as being on the phone????

I even used the paid download part on the phone to pull one in to see where it went. I then put more images on the phone in the same location, with the same file extension, and the phone will not shome them?? I hope that I have made sense of this.
