It's on Sharp's website - http://www.sharp-mobile.com

Here, I've dug up the link for you - http://www.sharp-phone.com/_assets/...set_Manager.zip

unfortunately the driver from the sharp website is only for the serial cable which goes in the com port

But the hanset manager on the website don't have the option. And it's only for GX20.
A few months ago, i've dowloaded one handset manager for 20, 21 and 22 and have the option for recharge the battery. Don't remember where...

Hang on a second, the GX20 only works with a serial cable. I've never heard of a USB cable designed for the GX2x series and its connector. First USB cable came along with the GX30.

theres loads of ebay sellers selling the USB data cable for the GX10 and GX20 series, but there doesnt seem to be any software available to make the cable work with the phone (contrary to what the sellers claim). the PC does detect the phone with the USB cable connected though, and the drivers work fine

That would be because the GX10 and GX20 were never designed to work with a USB cable. The cables on eBay are all third-party cables, and there is probably some trick being used to make a PC think that the USB cable is a serial cable, allowing the Handset Manager software to work with it. However neither the phone nor the software were ever designed for a USB cable, hence the problems you guys are all having. Without a proper driver, you can forget about recharging the phone from a PC...

i'm not too bothered about charging it via USB, i would just like to be able to transfer ringtones or pictures from phone to PC. looks like i will have to get a serial cable instead. if only these ebay stores wouldnt sell such junk

great news, i just got the GX10i to comminicate with the PC via USB cable using comport 5 on the "handset manager" from the sharp mobile website. just downloaded some images etc, so will try the ringtones next.

I have a USB to serial port cable.
My GX20 was flashed by Vodafone and this software is different. Only one or two little changes. Nothing important. But now i can't connect the mobile phone to PC. Handset Manager from Sharp site doesn't work. I've tried all USB ports and all COMs...

unfortunately on the GX10i Handset Manager (version 6.2) all i can do is transfer pics back and forth, it wont let me put games or ringtones onto there.

i tried using the GX20 software instead but that wont detect the GX10i.

all i can think about yours is, have you checked you loaded the correct USB drivers, and have you tried all the COM ports in Handset Manager In "option" and "interface setup". try each port in there and see if it detects the phone.

mine wouldnt work on the motherboard USB port, it worked on a PCI USB card

The connection always worked.
Only now, with new software, doesn't work...
