Anybody know what might be going on here...

If you need the history, read this first...

Anyway, I no longer have the big 'G' on my SMT 5600 that indicates GPRS is available...if I try to connect to the internet or medianet/wap, the little 'G' over the signal bar comes on, but nothing happens, just clocks and/or errors out.

Based on the thread above, I have had some strange things happen to my account in the last 24 hours, but I wouldn't think this would cause the big 'G' to dissappear all-together would it ?

I suspect a network outtage, but Cingular says nothing in my area has been reported...HELLLLLOOOO...I'm reporting it...oh well, maybe it's my phone.

I connected on and off all day yesterday and it was fine, never changed any network settings...last night and all day today, nothing, dead as a door-nail...

The only other thing different lately is that yesterday afternoon, I was playing w/ a few games from MODACO's downloads for the SPV...Doom, Pacman, and SpaceInvaders, just to see how they worked...could those have damaged the radio or something ?

Do voice/GSM and GPRS work on different radios in the phone, b/c my GSM voice line is working just fine ?

Since resolving my account issues this morning and making sure that Unlimited MediaNet was added back to my account, i've also re-flashed the ROM on my phone using the cold boot stuff w/ the SMT 5600...put all my contacts back and basic software reinstalled, no games though...

Anybody have any ideas ? ? ?

You didn't add a key or edit the key that says GPRSNOATTACH? I don't know if this key exists in the SMT 5600...so far I have only seen it in 3.45...however you could add it and enable it and see if that helps.

Go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RIL

Add a new DWORD and call it GPRSNOATTACH

Set the Value Data to 0

Base: Decimal

Not sure if this will work for you but you can try it.

This also could be a hardware problem but I don't think it is unless you jared the phone. The games you installed could of caused a problem but I really can't tell you if that is the problem.

I didn't edit anything that I recall...

But, good news...somebody waved a magic wand or something, GPRS came back w/ the big 'G' a few minutes ago and I seem to be back online now...so we'll see if it lasts the weekend...

I have no idea what happened...but I'm convinced at this point that it's nothign I did...since it's all of a sudden working now and my phone has just been sitting here for hours doing nothing...

Must of been something up with Cingular I guess.
