Are u a student or belong to a professional organization (CA, CGA etc)?. If so then try meloche monnex, its pretty cheap. Alumni's of most uni's in canada are covered too.

GM is good for 6 month policies but I just checked Bel Air and its $4331 per year so if anyone knows a cheaper company please let me know
