I could use some help please. I just got my new vx8100 a few days so I am still new to this stuff. I have been able to load some mp3's onto my phone both by uploading on web and via miniSD. The files were renamed with .mid extension and only about 20 sec because I want to use them aas ringtones. They loaded and played fine on phone but they end up in My Sounds. How do I get them in My Ringtones so I can assign them to a contact. Do I have to go the route of bitpim or qpst with a usb connection? If so what versions do I need to work with the VX8100? Do I also need software like Audacity or what?

Since nobody else seemed interested in answering my questions I posted a few days ago!!,I tried to solve it on my own. I succeeded in transferring some of my ringtones to the phone with a usb cable I picked up at Verizon (it was actually the vx7000 mobile office kit but it fit and worked) and qpst 2.7 which I had downloaded.Works great but the phonebook software that came with kit doesnt support the vx8100 so for that you would have to get the mobile office kit for te vx8100.

I also just got that phone and when downloading ringtones, it automatically saves it to My sounds instead of My Ringtones.

How do i get it to save to myringtones?

Thanks

Once you understand how to download ringtones into your Internal memory of the phone which maxs out at 2.3MB you may want to check out my new instructions on how to use ringtones off of your SD Disk. I now have 27 Mp3 Ringtones equaling about 55MB that I can use of my SD disk with my phone and I can add a butt load more since I have a 512MB SD Disk.
