VX8100, Bitpim, and OSX tiger HELP!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: 2002REDGT

Ok so I just recently got the 8100 and downloaded the last few versions of bitpim (i did this because i couldnt get any to work). I do have a data cable and also have BT in the CPU. I have an imac g5 running 10.4 and I cannot get bitpim to hook up with my phone. If i turn the BT on the phone and go into bitpim to see what port i want to use it shows up as bluetooth LG device or something like that. If I plug the cable in then it shows up as USB LG device. I have it set to vx8000 as the phone because when i tried other cdma phone it would not allow to get check any of the options under get phone date (phonebook, wallpaper, etc.) When i go to detect phone it says no phone detected yet when i look in the com port it shows up as LG usb device. When I set it as the vx8000 and try to get phone data i get this error message every time.

An unexpected exception has occurred.
Please see the help for details on what to do.

Same thing was happening to me. All I had to do was have the phone pluged in a few seconds before I launched BitPim.

The only part that will work is the systems tab. None of the others work yet. See Roc's post about adding Ringtones....follow it except you don't need the driver.

I have mine set to 8000 not other....I could not get the other to work.

Hope that helps....I've transfered a bunch of ringtones with no problems.

Good news! i got it working. I also figured out how to upload/download movies and upload/download the pics off the phone. Thanks for the help.
