I wouldn't put it past anyone...

There are some questionable ringtones marketed here in Europe. Sometimes these ringtones are obnoxious in that they emit questionable sounds.

Posted by: angel_wing0

always make your OWN ringtones

Posted by: praz

ahhh man finally this sub forum is opened up ....
thank u

i hope ppl post good ringtones here

Posted by: angel_wing0

yeah i know..well i usually make my own anyways

Posted by: MrSlick

Very nice, I don't mind sharing my ringtones but almost all of them are bits of copyrighted mp3, so I guess I can't post them here.

Posted by: angel_wing0

i think u can...can u? mod hf 4...is it a yes or a no?

Posted by: alt0160

first time reading this thread... and i gots to thinking...

i wouldn't mind having a ringtone of a pornographic scene...
minus the moaning, oh's, ah's, and "F" me harder... lol.

is this type allowed?

Posted by: angel_wing0

try making one and see...dont think u'll get ban for it

Posted by: Keystr0ke

what is porn without the oh's, ah's, and "F" me harder's?

Posted by: TriBand81

Heavy breathing, there are other ways to share such ringtones since they're not allowed here (i.e. your ringtones page).

This link from vzw/LG forum should be helpful for understanding what can and cannot be done on HoFo where ringtones are concerned:
"any ringtone requests?" http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=179539
There are some how-to stickies there, too, about making ringtones that some people may find useful.

If anyone finds this info helpful, I could use some help myself understanding how to put musical ringtones on Nokia GSM phones with Cingular, specifically a friend wants to put an Aretha tune on her Nokia 6061. Simple request, except that she's in Philly and I'm no where near there! I have no GSM Nokia phone to experiment with.
Can I email or MMS the ringtone to her? Can it be mp3 or is midi or another format required? Will it install from "my sounds" or whatever the Nokia/Cingular equivalent to that folder is? What's the best way to send her a ringtone she can install herself?
I'm contract-stuck w/vzw and CDMA for a few months yet and while I believe my LG vx9800 is a great phone -- every bit as good as vzw is bad -- I am still drooling over the E70 as I write. Or maybe Nokia will release its own 9800 with a 2+mp camera, a super sharp display, and adequate internal memory as the next generation 9500?

Can anyone enlighten me about installing mp3 ringtones on a 6061?
If not, I'll just keep Trojan along...

Posted by: tcMits

Follow-up:
I have made the ringtone and have it working on my vzw CDMA LG vx9800.
Obviously my question (above post) is considerered too obvious to deserve a response; I'm sure that to those who own Nokia phones with Cingular service it is that obvious. But I don't have access to that info.
I have gone through other threads here w/o finding the information, and I have searched on 6061 ringtones w/o finding anything useful.
If I'm in the wrong forum or have otherwise misdirected my question would someone please be so kind as to direct me to the right place to ask this question. I'm assuming that a '60'61 meets the criteria of a series '60' phone, but I know NOTHING about Cingular or Nokia except that the E70 is the only phone that would suit my needs right now, if I weren't locked into vzw by contract.
Can some one please be an angel tell me where to go? [ :>) ]

well this is not about s60...but u dont need to install the ringtones, u should be able to detect them thru profiles~

Thank you for responding.

So, a Nokia '60'-61 is not a Series '60' phone? Where is the right place to post a ringtone question for that phone?
The mp3 ringtone I have was made with Audacity and installed on my vzw LG vx9800 with Bitpim. It works on my phone.
What I now want to do is send it a thousand miles or so to a friend who has a Cingular Nokia 6061. My problem is that she is not tech savvy and I don't have the Nokia phone to look at and figure out how it is done. If I could go through her menus I would probly figure it out myself.
But, are you saying I can just send it in an MMS message and she will be able to use it by some simple process -- like moving it from her inbox to her ringtone file and that's all there is to it?
Oh, I really hope it will be that simple!

Posted by: angel_wing0

having "60" on the model number doesnt mean its s60

6020, 6030 are some example of non-s60 phones

and u are right i think, she will probably be able to access it thru mms and save it as her ringtone~

you might want to try the nokia forum

Posted by: tcMits

Thank you for your kind assistance. I have sent the tone on to Philly with your instructions.

Visit the Nokia forum for issues regarding Series40 Nokia Phones.

Hi All,
I'm new to the forums, and saw that there's one here for ringtones, so thought I'd post a question...

I'm with Verizon - love the service, but their ringtones suck. A friend of mine has AT&T and there's a ringtone on her phone that I love. Is there any way to transfer or download it without having to sign up and pay a monthly on one of the gazillion ringtone websites out there? The name of the ringtone I want is called Ambient Mood.

Thanks!

Posted by: angel_wing0

this is the s60 ringtones forum/

Posted by: toots4boo

Sorry 'bout that - care to be kind and direct me to the right place to ask? Thanks

Hey guys, I just got an unbranded N82 and was wondering if the phone will accept mp3s as ringtones. If not... is it like locked SEs were you heve to use a DRM packager? If you do have to comvert the files, What program is recomended

Posted by: angel_wing0

yes it will work with mp3 ringtones.
