LG L1200 - Display no longer works

My daughter's LG L1200 display no longer works after her phone fell out of her pocket, onto the wooden floor. She can sometimes receive and place calls manually (if the static isn't too bad), but can't see what she's doing.

Can these phones be repaired, or will she need to purchase a new one? (No ... we didn't purchase insurance.) She has had the phone almost a year. Will we have to pay full price (this was $249 less a $100 discount) for a replacement? If not full price, do we have to agree to a new two year contract term (we are only one year into a two year contract now.)

I really don't want to extend the contract term, as I want her to establish service in her own name after my contract is up.

MIne is a sideways screen whenever a button is pressed....weird as hell.

Looks like your out of luck, I'm sure there is a way you can replace the screen, maybe look for a cell phone fixing shop.
But if your like me and have no idea where to find one of those things, i would just recommend buying a GOphone from your local walmart, target, ect... and and popping her sim card in. You could also get a phone from ebay, i recommend the NEC 535 which is under 100 and has a camera, ect.
Good luck though

if you want to replace it with the same model, they are currently fairly cheap on eBay. i was looking into selling my old one and was kind of suprised at how low they are.

Don't get an LG. I would pickup a GoPhone, activate it and use a couple of calls on it and then swap the SIM out with your daugters SIM. They have them for around $35-$70 at Walmart depending on the model of the phone.
