I just got my new 256mb transflash today from Amazon, but still Im confused on how you can place mp3's as ringtones on the E815. What am I doing wrong?? If anybody can help me with this problem I'd appreciate it.

If the E815 is anything like the V710, you have to copy the file from the transflash to the phone in order to use them as tones.

In a stock v710 or e815, there isn't an option for copying ringtones from the transflash card to the phone.

You can do a seem edit, adn the option will show up... offset: 75/5 on seem 41a (for the v710) or 2742 (on the E815), For more information: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=674803

or you can do the outbox trick....

Outbox trick:
1. Create a new Pix message, and send it to a fake number (111-111-1111)
2. Click Insert, and go to Sound. Go to Menu and Switch Storage Device to the Transflash card.
3. Select the sound you want to copy.
4. You can now enter a message, just leave it blank.
5. Now you will get a summary. To: 111-111-1111, Msg: Slide Show, etc....
6. Push send, and as the message is going through, push the END button until it fails
7. Now go to your outbox, and you'll see the message, open it, and the sound will play...
8. Go to menu, and choose Save items, and just choose File
9. The sound will start playing, and just push Store, and it will ask you where, just choose Phone.

You won't be charged a picture message, but you might be charged a minute, depending on how fast you push END...
