On my 9300, www-hofo will sometimes load (takes a long time) - often seems to hang, indicating 'M of N images' loaded - a Ctrl+Z solves the hang. The html pages at hofo are very heavy. I don't think it's ever crashed on me though. You may want to increase your cache size (mine's at 3MB at the moment).

You're right, going to wap-hofo just redirects to www-hofo. I did some investigation and discovered that this is because the wap front-end for hofo is looking for specific values in the ACCEPT header that the 9300 does not return.

In order for the wap front-end to work, the ACCEPT header sent up by the browser should contain at least one of these:

text/vnd.wap.wml
application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml
application/vnd.xhtml+xml
application/xhtml+xml

When I point my 9300's web browser at:

http://pgl.yoyo.org/http/browser-headers.php

I see the following values in the Accept header:

application/vnd.oma.drm.message
*/*
text/x-vcard
text/x-vcalendar
image/vnd.wap.wbmp
image/gif

Since there is no match, the wap front-end gives up and redirects to the www-hofo site.

It would be great if you could point your 9500 at that link above and report back what it shows in the ACCEPT header.

Cheers.

I am having a similar problem. When I go to HoFo on my 9500 it almost always just hangs up while loading at the 291kb mark this time. What's up with that.
Also is there a way to get the wap.hofo site to load?

HOFO has been difficult for me on 2 pcket pc's and my sony psp so I stick to the howard archives as I've never had an issue since that time...you cant post and it doesnt display sig grafx or anything but that's the point.

I seem to be able to load the series 80 forum directly with no problem by loading from this link.

I seem to have only a 50% success rate when I go through the front page at howardforums.com

My cache is set to 4 Megs though.
