My g/f has a v220 which has the SIN display which is almost impossible to see in direct sunlight or bright light.

Is it possible for me to transplant a v551 TFT into her v220, when it comes to hardware mods I'm a bit of a noob, I have soldered before and I do love to play with electronics, but something this advanced I have never tried...

I'm just wondering if anyone has thought of it or even tried it...

no. the v551's screen wouldn't even fit on the v220.

551s are hard as hell to see into direct sunlight anyway... at least all 3 of mine have been...
