KX1 as modem

Does anybody know if there is any thing that needs to be set to make this model work as a modem? It dials out and connects but when you try to load a page it never loads, I do see if a lot of errors if you look at the connection status.
I'm on Verizon but I tried to call my ISP but with the same result. Thanks Bill
