I know the pohone is GSM 900/ 1800/ 1900 but what frequency does Cingular operate on? The phone is not quad band so with the lack of GSM 800, will it hurt the reception. (The phone guy recommended the RAZR because it has all 4 frequencies)

Thanks

lol i love when corp stores say "oh this phone is quad-band, that means good reception everywhere" WRONG....not true

the US only uses two frequencies for cellular - 850 (800) and 1900 mhz
so in the US a dual band phone is just as effective as a quad band if they both have 850 and 1900

if you get a phone w/out 850 you're losing about half your signal and depeding where you're at, even more
it my case, my area is only 850
so bottom line, i do not recommend a tri-band, non 850 phone. at all.

Answers my question too LOL... I heard you would be roaming like non-stop... Correct me if im wrong? Or will you just plain out have NO service? lol

well if t-mo is in your area and cingular has a roaming agreement with them then yes..t-mo is a 1900mhz only cellular company whereas cingular is 850 AND 1900 (hence why cingular also has much better coverage and building penetration)

but it'll be about 50/50 between roaming and no service

just stay away from non-850 phones if you want good coverage, simple as that.

Yeah we have T-Mobile here (my friend has it) and it is bad here. I mean you get service outside but inside it sucks lol not for me im getting the LG L1400 when i can (soon I hope)... It has 850, im sticking with 850.. NO t-mobile service for me LOL!
