Hi... I heard that the S710a can only support MS up to 128??

and can it use MS DUO PRO???

as far as i know and in the manual

it says it CANT use duo pro (written in bold italics)

and ms duo ONLY goes up to 128mb

hard to find to really..prolly ebay best bet.

ANYONE ELSE KNOW where to get these cheap? around gta preferably?

i need one..pm if you're looking to sell too

ps. HOWEVER.i have seen post about someone using ms pro duo with their s710a and it worked..prolly didnt' test it extensively but..????? anyone look into this??

If I had a nickle for every post by someone that said "I have seen a post about someone using ms pro duo" I'd be a very rich man.

This is an urban myth. There is no actual post by someone who has succesfully used the MS PRO DUO, just 100 threads by people who claim to have "read a post"

If you take the time to read the thread started by someone that says they've used the ms pro in the s710a, it only takes reading the second or third post before you see a message from the same idiot that says "oh sorry, I thought this 128mb MS was a Pro" These threads seem to pop-up once a week. Probably the exact number of times cingular actually sells an s710a because the idiot sales people (ok some of them know what they're doing and they're just slimeballs) tell people "Sure it can read all memory sticks".

The people like you who claim to have actually seen a post "somewhere" have actually only seen a post by someone else who said they saw a post and you are really only hoping that that person or someone else with better search skills than you will actually give you the link to the thread. Don't hold your breath.

To answer the original question with finality:

NO. The s710a is incapable of reading MS PRO DUO. Period. End of Discussion. There is no modification that is within the realm of anyone who is reading this to make the s710 suddenly work with the PRO DUO. it would require that a peice of hardware be removed from the mainboard and replaced with a new peice of hardware, then, a new firmware would have to be written in order to recognize this new peice of hardware that has been soldered to your phone.

Sorry for the rant. No worries.

Also: Don't know why you're having a hard time finding them in canada. They're $30.00 here at best buy and they have a load of them. Sometimes they hide them in the PSP section. Here is a link on their website: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...d=1067389784923
