Hello.
I've just released a new version of my trigonometic calc.
Now have a new features, yes it have a benchmark.

This benchmark uses Fibonacci maths to stress youre CPU phone.

Download FPC and try it.
http://utenti.lycos.it/overtheclock/myapps.html

please download FPC-ITA. Is newer than other ones. Also if is in italian is easy to use.
Simply select PiBench Menu
and then select 16K. Repeat test for 32 and 64K. If you want you can post also result greater than 64K.
If you want to compare the performance of youre phone please
post here the model of phone and the result of the benchmark.

I've got Motorola V620 and
it calculate 16000 fibonacci numbers in 54 seconds.

In his defense, I just downloaded the JAVA version, which should run on my SMT5600.

Say...a question. How does one install this app on a Windows SmartPhone? I've never used a JAVA app before, though I know it supports them.

And, won't this program measure only the efficiency of the JAVA interpreter, and not the phone itself?

On a smartphone my app measure the effective performance of the CPU running on a java interpreter. You need to install a JVM to run java app.

No, dude, you STILL don't understand. This forum is for those of us who own or possibly want to own an A-U-D-I-O-V-O-X cell phone. Your phone is a
M-O-T-O-R-O-L-A.

Often in a forum people use to help other people.
Not always people do something for primary interest otherwise forum have no reason to exist.
Can I ask you where you came from?

Not entirely confident that I am able to interpret the fundamental gist of your statement; however, I will "give it a go" as we say. The "speed" of anyone's phone is somewhat irrelevant when compared one on one in the light of brand, carrier and features. In my particular case, if it makes a connection to the number I call, if the ringtones I uploaded work, and if my screensaver and wallpaper appear as desired then I'm a happy camper. Others may not feel that way. My motto is: "If it feels good, do it". While I totally support your learning how to do something new, I find posting ":: :: ::" to keep your topic current to be somewhat annoying.

mmmm.
Probably you know that phones will become more and more powerful.
Today with modern phones we can run any apps/games you can think. Why buy a modern phones if you don't need apps/games?
Many people use phones not only for calling or listen music.
Please use Motorola 8900 instead of a modern audiovox

Let me tell you onething. If my topic is annoying for you please go away and don't bother me. I'm on a forum. I'm asking for an help and I'm the right to ask for an help.

OK, guess I've tortured you enough but remember this: No one at this time can run a Java applet on a Brew 2.0 phone. :rolleyes2

Nope, they are BREW phones my friend, and nothing will change that. However, I did see some news articles about a Java VM for BREW enabled phones... while not currently available to the general public (as far as I know), this may allow us to test your application.

http://www.qualcomm.com/press/relea...01/press17.html

I for one know my provider does not offer this, only signed brew applications through "Get It Now".

Course, with Java being not natively supported, your program won't really give a result as to how "fast" the phone is, but rather how well the BREW Java VM was made and how fast it can translate bytecode. In the end, a pretty poor benchmark. Especially since right now the distributed BREW phone apps are designed to run perfectly on the lowest common denominator. So having a faster processor for these really doesn't matter.

Seems more like an attempt to start a Digital Penis Size contest:
MINE's Bigger than Yours! It runs all the apps exactly the same... but... this program says mine's better! Woo!

Really, I don't see any other reason to be chewing on people who really can't possibly have any use for your software as of now.
