vx8000 driver for Mac OSX tiger

I have a vx8000 from verizon and a usb data cable. I also have an iBOOK running osx tiger. For some reason I can not get this phone to connect to the iBOOK. I beleive it is a software problem.
Did anyone ever get it to work with tiger?
Do I need a certain driver?

Macs do not need phone drivers. Just hook up your USB cable to your Mac and download BITPIM and you'll be able to add/remove ringtones, pics, etc. Follow the directions posted elsewhere in this forum.
iSync does not work with LG phones so don't bother.
