Hello Everyone,
I can not stop drooloing over how feature packed, sleek and beautiful these Sharp 902's are but I have some concerns. Can you guys guide me as to what I should look out for and from who I should buy it from. I live in New York City and I have Cingular service. Any advice would help out a lot. Thanks everyone.

well, the phone doesn't have 850, and since you have cingular, you are limiting your network possibilities. If you want a 2mp camera phone, then look at the Nec N840, its quadband

I got mine off ebay from this guy: fionachan328 [at] hotmail.com He doesnt have any current auctions, but I would just email him and ask.
He was very honest and trustworthy. He is in Los Angeles, but has a contact he gets the phone from in Japan. He also flashes it with whatever firmware you want. The phone was $460 with $39.99 shipping. I had my phone in about 7 days. I was skeptical at first by I saw other ebayers getting their phones from him and so I took a chance. All worked out great.

Check out his ebay profile

If I had to recommend where to get one, I'd say get the one Ajamils has (i think he is still selling it). I bought my 902 from him and its a Euro version

i recommend my boi x1387 on ebay. he's really good.

Thanks for the support guys. I have a few questions.

What software should I choose?

How is the PC software? Is it simple to transfer images and mp3's.

Stereo speaker quality? Is it as loud and crisp as they say it is.

Reception? I know it is based on your carrier but certain phones do connect with the signal much better than others.

How does this Baby Blue Sharp 902SH look to you guys?

These phones do have English right?

Posted by: Takumi_Inui

I got mine from X1387 for $449USD after shipping. The phone came in English but it's originally the Japanese one.

Posted by: Timsta

not sure about pc software. mine never came with any.

it is fairly easy to transfer songs and pictures to the phone.

stereo speaker.. u mean speakerphone? its alright. not bad. but i've been told by ppl listening to me.. that its somteims hard to hear me speak.. but thats probably cause i'm like far away from the mic.

reception i get decent reception.. i'm on fido

Wirelessly posted (NEC N840: NEC-N840/1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 UP.Browser/6.2.3.2.g.1.108 (GUI) MMP/2.0)

If u have cingular you're wasting your time.

Is it trully that big of a difference in coverage since I have Cingular and the phone not having 850 band. With my Inno 90 I find some places to work much better than my Rzr.

Posted by: Ver2

I am a cingular employee and i have numerous cingular phones, i find the 902 to have BETTER reception than ANY of my phones with 850... Im in the Bay Area...(california) so i dont know if that has anything to do with it but thats my 2cents

Really!! You just made my decision a lot easier. I live in NYC so service is very good.

Are you happy with your 902SH? Where did you buy it?

Posted by: braindead5400

I don't see how your inno 90 could do better than the Razr because not only does the Razr have all 4 bands (versus three on the inno), its been said to have great rf (something the inno 90 wasn't known for).

I usually get by with a 1900mhz only phone, but I do hit dead spots in the city.

isn't NYC an 850 area? if so then getting a 1900mhz only phone is pointless as it won't work at all. if it is a 1900mhz area, then you'll be ok.

NYC runs on 850 and 1900. It will switch between t-mobiles 1900 band and AT&T's 1900 band. You can lock it to use the T-mobile 1900 band which works really well.

Well guys I made my decision at around 3:30pm today and purchased a Taiga Green Sharp 902SH with the SX813 software. It will arrive on Monday and I can't wait for this badboy to come in. Can't wait to post some pics on our pics thread and show off this bad boy. Hope I will be happy. I currently have a Korean CDMA phone that you can check out in my thread

http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...018#post5546018

I am sure my new Sharp will top my current killa.

Posted by: Timsta

haha. enjoy. u will enjoy it.

Posted by: Aldiggi

Well guys I just got my Green 902(SX813) on Friday and I am very impressed with it. The design and build quality is very good and the screen is absolutley amazing. The camera is decent and the video recorder is the best I have seen to date. The mp3 playback is crystal clear and I love the different equalizer modes. The flash light feature really makes the flash useful. I posted some pics in the thread.

I have a question, just got my 802SH and it's showing AT&T Wireless. I am using a Cingular SIM card so I thought something is wrong. I went into network settings and changed it from Auto to GSM. Then it briefly showed "No Service". Next I picked manual and it started searching for what GSM networks are out there, it returns only AT&T Wireless and T-Mobile. So, are you saying I should pick T-Mobile, even though I'm a Cingular customer (and Cingular and AT&T merged...) Will I get charged for roaming or other fees? Please help!! Thanks.
