Using a Verizon phone on Alltel

After being told by countless Alltel employees, it was imposable to activate a Verizon phone on the Alltel network, I then searched all over the internet including this forum to find out how. I couldn't really find anyone who had actually done it. I decided to try anyways so I took my Verizon phone to the Alltel store and when they told me that they wouldn't do it I activated it over the phone and successfully got the phone to work. Here are the steps to make a Verizon phone work with Alltel.

1. Make sure the ESN is unlocked and not still being used by Verizon.
2. Call Alltel(*611) and follow the instructions to activate a new phone.
3. After the phone has been activated it will be roaming because the SID number in the phone is an Alltel SID but the PRL's are Verizons and it will be on the Verizon Network. What you need to do it go into system settings and set the phone for Home only this will force it to go to the Alltel network.
4. After the phone is on home only you can then dial *228 and update the PRL's.
