cannot receive incoming text messages!

so here's the situation: i'm able to receive incoming text messages from others with cingular service, but not from others with different providers (i.e. sprint, t-mobile, verizon). they receive my text messages, but i never receive their replies! i've called cingular numerous times, and they've told me to change my service center numbers; this hasn't solved the problem. does anyone know how i can fix this? any help would be appreciated.

did you port over to cingular recently? it took me 24 hours before my text messaging was working properly. first i had to change the access code in my phone settings, but the second time i called, it seemed like they had to adjust some kind of setting in their system (it wasn't clarified for me)

otherwise I have no clue, sorry!

It appears that some settings in the programs that they use may not be correctly set. If you go over to the Cingular Customer Forums: http://forums.cingular.com/cng/ and register your handle - one of the Moderators should be able to assist you and get you up and running.

if i change my phone number will this possibly solve the problem?
