Sidekick 2 Ringtones

Is there a way to use MIDI ringtones with the sidekick 2? I can't seem to find a way to make it work.. and I don't want to have to pay 2.99$ for a ringtone when I can make them myself.
Surely somebody has come up with a way..

The Sidekick II cannot accept ringtones from its e-mail client. The only way is to go to the catalog and download a polyphonic (MIDI) ringtone for $1.69. You're better off downloading a HiFi ringtone (MP3) for $1.99.
