I will make this the offial 3GP video ringers thread. making 3GP ringtones is pretty easy. and everyone already made a wallpaper or ringtones thread. now we need VIDEO ringers!!!

we can use this thread to upload or make requests or just upload some for the heck of it. all questions on how to make them and what software to use or where to get them (like me, i need help myself) can be asked and answered here.

can anyone give me links or suggestions to video editors i can use. i would really like to start using hiphop video clips as video ringers but i don't have a video editor to cut down the 3GP videos to under 300kb. i know there's Ulead but is there something else i can use?

also in the meantime, if i can make a request for the following videos under 300kb:

There's a program that some PSP owners use that converts .avi to .mp4 files. The program is cool because there are specific types of convertions like PSP, or mobile phones(J-SH53, SH900i, NTTDoCoMo Ringtone motion setting).
I think I found it at gamespy or some gaming network when I was seaching for a mp4 encoder(psp) on google.
Its called "3pg_converter031"

I dunno if you guys will have the same problem but I am unable to to upload 3pg files onto my phone do to copyright authorizations that NEC suite gives me.

Yeah, that's a good one. I've used that one since the day I got my phone and I use the SH900i settings. It works wonders.. way better than any other 3GP convertor I've tried.

Just curious, what programs are you guys using to transfer your files? I'm thinking the Memory editor and NEC suite are too restrictive. It can't detect mmf and requires authorization for mfm and 3pg files.

I haven't bothered to learn how to use the memory editor yet. I don't use any software, I just use the card reader. That way I have no problems with authorization for the 3GP files, BUT you can't transfer MIDIs or MMFs or MFMs that way.

I haven't used many rings other than 3GP, but when I have, I just upload them to my webspace and then use WAP to get them...

Lucky you, I'm stuck with using those crappy programs as I listed above...wish I pulled out some extra $$ for the N840.

I have a V360 and I use SUPER. It converts everthing simply. Even for PSP's and IPOD Videos. Its a great 3GP converter. You can select bit rates and resolution. Google it or search it using howardforums search.

i can play 3gps fine, but i just cant assign them as a ringtone. an error msg comes up saying "this file cannot be assigned"

any help?

apparently it only takes it if its converted with amr and not acc

sucky audio quality for a cool vid of tifa kicking *** in an advent children clip
