VPN Sync With Desktop

Hello! I'm trying to get my phone to connect thru PPTP to my desktop at home and sync. I can successfully VPN at work to my home PC, but I can't seem to get my phone to connect up. I have VPN configured, and I added the IP to the work exceptions list. Anybody here ever been able to get this to work? Thanks!
