Power problem after Cingular Update ??

I've been waiting for the 650 cingular software update in order to give the device another shot. So i bought the 650 after palm released the new update. I think the sound quality has improved big time...volume still low in louder or outside environment.....but not an issue when using a bl tooth headset.

Noticed a Power bug or maybe just my device.

If the power is set to 1, 2, or 3 minutes, the device powers off if untouched in 30 seconds. So, if you turn the phone on...make a call...then go to an app like calender....play around then let device sit untouched...lights off and keylock happens in 30 seconds.
Now power phone off....go to prefs..set back to 2 min...play with and app....let sit and its lights on for 2 minutes.
I know this is serious nit-picking but a reset did nothing. What do you think of a hard reset....or just deal?

Thanks for opinions

well, hard reset did nothing.

Any Cingular 650 users notice this?? Surprised...

And find it quite disturbing - especially if I have my calendar or contacts open and am checking on the info, but not "using" any keys. I do, however, like the dark screen on the phone calls. A simple tap and the lights come back on.

I found that the power off time sets to 30 seconds after making or taking a call. If you set the time off to 3 min, it will stay that way all day until a call is made or received. It is not nit picking. It is a bit annoying. Hopefully, they will fix it.

If I am not mistaken, the 1.15 CNG updater sets by default the screen turning off after 30 secs in the phone application. This was done to save the battery and b/c there were many complaints of the screen staying on in dark conditions when making simple phone calls.

This is correct, but I'm still not understanding the sense of having this feature take effect when the screen is touched, rather than a side button, since the screen HAS to be against the side of your face. I don't know about anyone else, but I myself find it far more annoying to have it flash on and off numerous times when I'm in a dark room, which is accompanied by a lovely crackling sound in the earpiece every time it turns on. I'm just trying to find software like "LED off" that will allow you to keep the screen OFF during calls. Someone suggested Treoguard, but I don't need all of the ringtone stuff since I use Lightwav. It baffles me more and more over how this "smartphone" can't include simple features such as ringtones that don't require 3rd party apps, and backlight features that free Samsung and Motorola flip phones have.
