my versa mail is set with my pop 3 account of comcast.net. i have no problems downloading the mail to the treo but when i create an email or respond to one i recieve there is a problem.

when i go to hit the send button after i create an email it comes back with an X 530 authentication error. what does the 530 mean and how do i fix it so i can send messages??

you probably have the wromg smtp. most carriers wont let you relay, so provide an smtp server that you can use once you log in.

who is you carrier?

my carrier is comcast and on my outlook on my pc i use for the outgoing is smtp.comcast.net and that is the same i used on the versamail. the outgoing port number is 25 and looked on the outlook and it is 25 also. i did set it up from the phone side if that makes a difference. which i dont think it should.

any different outgoing server i can use that would work?

oops. your carrier is t-mobile, like mines.

you need to use myemail.t-mobile.com.

you have to log on, so your account would be yournumber:1 and no password.

but, i think u have to log onto mytmobile and set this part up. they will give you the info.
