I have tried almost everything. Read plenty of posts here. I have a usb cable from ultranikon at ebay. I installed everything ((ie: and the pc does not recognize anything. It does absolutely nothing when I plug it in. I tried to use the "add hardware wizard" but did not know which type of hardware to try to install. I can follow instructions. I may not be an elctronics whiz, but I am no moron either. Any help will be greatly appeciated.

I ran the "setup.exe" from a disc that came with the cable labeled:
"USB DATA CABLE NEW DRIVER"
The setup.exe was inside "USB driver" folder in subfolder "current-driver".

I also intsalled the "KYOCERA-DATA-KIT DESKTOP-2.2ZIP" (48 MB) with the update "KDPUPDATE 2.4.EXE" (7MB) and let the autodetect feature run with no result. Always get the no phone detected message. Seller even offered to refund money after several attempts to help with no success.
I am using a pc with w xp 512 mb ram 4 usb ports

I am frustrated. Have a disk with thousands of ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers and games and nothing to do with it.

When I plug my cable into the USB port, without the phone hooked up, my computer will recognize it as a device being hooked up. Are you at least getting that far?

BTW, where did you find KYOCERA-DATA-KIT DESKTOP-2.2ZIP and the Update?

hi: thanks for your post.

when i plug the cable without the phone hooked on it, the pc does nothing, but i know the usb works because i use it frequently with a card reader, a digital camera and a lexar jump drive with no problems.

on a curious note, while making try number 1500 today the phone was plugged and a call came in and the bitpim program almost recognized it. it then showed an error message. i do not know which port to assign when bitpim asks in the manually phone recognizing. any help is very welcomed.

on your request, i got his link from the cable seller. i assume it is from his site.

Ultra Nikon is an asswhole, he keeps selling the defective cable knowing that they don't work. I bought 1 cable from him told him it didnt work then he sent me a new one which also doesnt work, I also looked in his feedback and found that people left him positive feedback for the se47 cable, I then sent notes to about 10 of the peopel who bought the cable, all of them replied that they couldn't get it to work either and thought it was their fault. I really doubt these cables even work. I suggest you return it. I would return mine but I only paid $5 for it, so it would cost probably $1 to send it back and I'm too lazy.

This really sucks, I wonder how many people bought the non-working usb cables. Did you ever get yours to work, cuz I haven't. But I DID notice one thing though, if you take the battery out of the phone, the phone becomes powered by the usb cable. yet for some reason when you have the battery in, the phone doesnt charge.

Well i bought one from him and they do work..its just a pain in the *** to ever get it to..
