Cannot Transfer Files onto SMT5600

I recently purchased an Audiovox SMT5600, and am trying to copy files from my PC onto the phone. I connected them via a USB cable, and I've installed ActiveSync; synchronizing contacts, tasks, etc. is no problem.

However, I can't seem to transfer files at all. Using the explore option in ActiveSync opens the Explorer window, but the "Mobile Device" is empty, and I can't paste any files. I thought this might be because I needed to install a MiniSD card; but I bought one, and while it shows up on the phone's file manager, my PC doesn't seem to acknowledge it.

I downloaded the latest version of Windows Media Player, and on there, too, it's not recognizing my phone as a device.

Am I missing something here? The manual is particularly unhelpful on this issue.

I had the same issue.... when i hit the explore on activesync it opened an empty window.... i left the window open...pulled the USB cord and plugged it back in... a few seconds later the folder started to populate..... give it a try... might work for you too....

Thanks, but I ended up solving the problem myself... it turns out that my firewall was blocking the connection between my phone and my PC; once I disabled it, everything was fine. They should really make note of that somewhere...
