What I've been using to make mp3 ringtones

When I got my KOI KX2 and my wife's LG 7000 I went to Best Buy to get a ringtone maker. I found the only one they had was Magix Ringtone Maker.
I decided to try downloading one off of Limewire (where you can find registration software as well).

I found this program to be SO useful. You can create, crop, edit combine and change bit rates on any MP3.
The software only cost about $20.00 (if you go that route).

you could also but audicity for free or CMX Sound Studio

Funny thing is: I have found that just plain old MP3's seem to work as ringtones regardless of the bitrate or stereo format! I'm not sure if there even is a limitation to the size of the file other than the phone's physical 16MB of available RAM!

yea, be careful not to overload you phone though
