I recently got a Virgin Mobile V7 Flasher (aka VM8910) and have read a bit into putting custom ringtones, wallpaper, games, etc. on it. However, all the talk of "mess up your .db file and your phone is dead" has gotten me worried. If I backed up my files before editing anything, is it possible to restore them in the event that I mess up my rms.db or similar file?

Also, in order for me to transfer a ringtone via USB cable, the file that is overwritten HAS to be one that was downloaded from Virgin Mobile, correct?
