SMT 5600 froze at Audiovox startup...

it doesnt go past the audivox screen when it first loads...anyone know what is wrong with it?

It is hard to tell without hands-on testing but my advice would be to follow these steps:

1) try using your SIM card in another phone first to make sure it is not a faulty SIM card
2) try a soft reset
3) try a soft reset after having left the battery out of the phone overnight
4) try a hard reset
5) try a hard reset after having left the battery out of the phone overnight
6) take it back to the dealer or service centre

Unfortunately, the SMT5600 has a fairly long "start-up" time and out of the 3 different screens it goes through for this process, the Audiovox screen is the longest.

how do you soft and hard reset it?

hard reset by holding both soft keys down and then powering up the phone, you'll get a prompt yes/no to begin the reset.

hard to say what caused it, you didn't mess in the registry by chance did you, i pulled a smartione script into the wrong spot in my smt one day and had the same thing happen, the registry is a dangerous place...hehe...
