HI All,

Few days back I had posted about an application called Smart411, a 411 client for Berry411 search tool.

It was a MIDP app and lots of people had difficulty using it.

So I went back and wrote it in Embedded C++, now it is a Native Smartphone app, should work on All windows mobile 2003 smartphones.

It almost works on Pocket PCs but not as good as it was primarily intended to be a Smartphone app.

Right now you will have download the EXE directly and put it on my your smartphone and run it.

I tested it on my SMT5600 and it worked great.

Please try it out and let me know what you think of it. You may need an App unlocked phone for this.

Here is URL for zip file that contains the Executable.

Vishwats,

I would like to commend you on making this app, I used it for about an hour today and it is a great app! Its easy to use and it pulls up everything I need, best of all I love the fact that you can pick where you want to seach like Google, Yellow Pages, White Pages, etc. I will use it more in my travels to test it more and see how useful it really is to me but so far so good! Keep up the good work! By the way your name is listed as an author and you seem to be a female....its about time a female sofware developer steped up and came to the smartphone forums! (disregard what I said if I am completely wrong...lol)

LOL,

Omega,

Vishwa is a short form for my full first name (Vishwanatha), and I am sorry it is not a female's name..

I am glad you liked this app.
Hope others try to it and see if they like it.

I made a small update to the executable.

During some of the seaches, you had found links to "Upgrade to Version 2.5".
Now you will not see that link anymore as it is irrelevent to this application.

The location of the executable is the same.

This is a neat app. Is there any way you can use the voice recognition buitin to the smartphone so I don't have to key in what I am searching for? I'm not expecting it to understand words per se, but to be able to speak letters and numbers. It's a lot easier for me than fumbling around on the keyboard.

Thanks,
Mike

That would be a great Idea, I am new to Microsoft Handheld development, will research more on that.
