Ive been having the problem others have been with the 8000 saying the memory is full when it isnt so i bought the data cable to back up my stuff and try to fix it. ive got bitpim and followed the stuff in the turorial sticky, i even bought it from the guy recommended in the sticky cause it was suppose to come with the driver for my computer but it didnt, so bitpim doesnt see my phone or vise versa and i think its due to the fact i dont have teh driver so if someone could help me out id greatly appreciate it.

Before plugging in the phone and USB cable to your computer make sure you run the driver.exe file you just downloaded first and install it. The default directory that the program will install is c:/program files/LG ElectronicsL/G USB Modem Driver.
After you install that plug in your phone and USB cable to your computer, then its gonna detect it and say found new hardware. When it asks you to either search for a driver or specify a location, click on specify location. Dont let windows search for a driver. Even tho it says "Recommended" next to it. That option is for noobs who dont know what they're doing. Click on the specify location and browse to c:/program files/LG electronics/LG USB Modem Driver (if thats where you chose to install it). Its gonna ask you like 3 times that it found new hardware so just repeat what you just did with the first detection each time it detects something new. It asks i think 3 times. Once you did all that, i recommend restarting your computer, but you can go ahead and see if bitpim detects your phone.
I hope this helps if not then check the VX8000 thread.
