I recently bought a Terminator Dongle to re-flash my AT&T T637 with an unbranded or Cingular GDFS but the GDFS files that I received with the Terminator Dongle does not work.

Does anyone have or know where I can download either an unbranded or Cingular GDFS for the T637?
I've searched the forum as well as google but can't seem to locate one anywhere.

Close this thread. I was able to find and upgrade my phone with the R5A023 firmware and unbranded GDFS file using the Terminator Dongle.

Hi, i have been looking for that gdfs file but i couldn't find it, if you have it please email it to me and if you have the main flash and the modem flash i'm needing them too because i uploaded a t630 files and my phone stops logging on the network.

I couldn't find the newest AVR and ARM files for the T637 (FW: R5A023) but here's a LINK for the "uncustomized GDFS" for the T637... Enjoy your new "debranded" phone.

I have the R5A023 AVR, ARM & GDFS files now. I just flashed my T637 from R3A to R5A successfully. If anybody needs these files don't hesitate to PM me with your email address and I'll gladly send them to you.

I replaced my older phone with a T637 and it is running FW R3A027

Is it worth upgrading to a newer firmware? Anything improve with it that much that would be reason to upgrade? So far my only complaint is that I wish I could get rid of the mMode short cuts and links since they are of no use to me.

Also can I flash it on a Mac or do I have to get myself in front of a PC to do this. Unless there is someone in the Chicago area that could lend me a hand with this.

By itself, I do not think that the firmware upgrade is that big of a deal for that firmware and that phone. However, you can also unbrand and get the More button back where AT&T stuck the mMode button. I can tell you how to do it. PM me and I will get you details.

i just bought an unlocked T637 to go with cingular network and it is running R3A025 - seems pretty old no?

anyone know of a version history so I can see what has been fixed/changed and if it is worth my looking for the dongle? also is dongling the only option?

locogrande: check your PM. As I said above, this is not a huge upgrade. I am just obsessive about latest firmware, for no real reason. So, anyway, you do need a cable or dongle. See your PM for details.

I am new to cell stuff. So I am wondering if there are different firmwares for different carriers. Thanks in advance.

Edit: NVM, I thought you can just use a USB connection with the PC. Looks like you need to get some kit to do this. So forget what I just said.

I just picked up a T637 that needs a de-brand and firmware upgrade. Could some kind soul send me the firmware rev R5A023 ARM/AVR files? I already grabbed the original GDFS from cellularsupport.com-- I assume it will work so I just need the ARM/AVR files.

Hey if you're interested in getting the old "T637 R3A027" go to www.terminatordongle.com, create a FREE account and you'll get the files there.

I just ordered the Terminator Dongle from Ebay and it's on its way. I'm hoping to finally be able to use my T637 that is locked by AT&T. I would like to upgrade it and unbrand it if I can.

Noob Question on Firmware? What benefit does it do to upgrade the firmware, I'm using a PV510 Bluetooth headset and others are hearing alot of echo's when i turn up the volume, will it fix that? if it does How the heck do you change the firmware? or Find it for that matter.
